Banjaras are Sanatani and everything else about them is cropped up

The Banjara community is an integral part of Sanatan Dharma. The Banjaras are a nomadic tribal community who are believed to have originated from the Indian subcontinent and some migrated in Europe between the eighth and tenth centuries C.E. The Banjaras are a traditional group of people who have preserved their culture and traditions over centuries.

They are often referred to as the Gypsies of India, The Banjaras practise Hinduism and are followers of Sanatan Dharma. They have settled in various parts of India, and their settlements are known as Thandas.

Their spiritual practices are similar to those of Hinduism, and the Banjaras have contributed to the fight against the invaders over the centuries. The Banjaras are often referred to as the “keepers of the Indian nomadic tradition.”

Unfortunately, The left-leaning cabal with a distorted view of reality is attempting to make it seem like the Banjara community is not part of the Hindu faith and that it is distinct from it but truth has always a clear crystal concept and Banjara are integral part of sanatani culture.

What RSS is trying

This week, an organisation backed by the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) is hosting an event for the Banjara community in Maharashtra. The aim of this gathering is to strengthen their integration into the Hindu faith, thereby reducing the risk of Christian missionaries attempting to convert them.

The Dharam Jagran Manch, an RSS-linked organisation, has collaborated with other Hindu religious and social organisations to initiate a six-day congregation of Banjaras at Godri village in Jalgaon district on January 25.

The Akhil Bharatiya Hindu Gor Banjara and Labhana Naikada Kumbh is a special event organised to bridge the gaps between the Banjara community, if any and increase awareness of conversion practices occurring in the region. The Banjaras are traditionally nomadic pastoralists and traders and are recognised as Other Backward Classes (OBCs), Scheduled Castes (SCs) and Scheduled Tribes (STs) in various states.

This event, which is the first of its kind in the RSS community, is expected to draw a crowd of around one million people. Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis, Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath, and RSS leader Suresh ‘Bhaiyyaji’ Joshi will all be present.

At the inauguration ceremony, Jitendra ‘Maharaj’ of the Banjara community encouraged those present, to avoid groups like BAMCEF (The All India Backward and Minority Communities Employees Federation), as he argued that they were causing divisions among Hindus. “The Gor Banjara community is an inseparable part of the Hindu religion and we are all Sanatan Dharmi. We have our own Teej, Holi, and Diwali songs. Christian missionaries are attacking our community and converting our people. Beware of them,” he added.

However, a section of Banjara leaders from western interest groups are expressing disapproval of the Kumbh event, stressing that Kumbh is not related to their culture and arguing that it is a way of pushing Hinduism onto them. These leaders have been protesting the event both on the internet and in person.

What left cabal is trying

It is evident that the left-leaning political forces are uncomfortable when the Hindu community unites, as this has disrupted their ability to manipulate the Hindu community by dividing it along caste and communal lines.

Mohan Chavhan, a retired professor of electronics engineering from Nagpur and the national president of the Bhartiya Banjara Samaj Karmachari Seva Sanstha which works towards the upliftment of their community, declared that the Kumbh being organised by the RSS is meant to benefit the BJP only.

They are organising the Kumbh, which doesn’t exist in our customs, in preparation for the Assembly elections in Karnataka, Telangana, Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh. All these States have a significant population of Banjaras,” said Mr. Chavhan.

Shantha Naik, an English professor at Vijayanagara Sri Krishnadevaraya University in Karnataka, hailing from the Banjara community, has written two books on its culture and history. He vehemently denied having heard of any history of the Banjaras associated with Godri village when interviewed by The Hindu. He also begged the Banjara community to avoid this Kumbh.

The difference between both sides

The Dharam Jagran Manch is striving to bring the Banjara community together and protect them from conversion, yet certain left lackeys are endeavoring to foster division within the Banjara community, all in support of their own sinister agenda.

“This community has given two Chief Ministers to Maharashtra [Sudhakarrao Naik and Vasantrao Naik]. The world knows we don’t believe in Hindu dharma. Then how can we take part in the Kumbh? This activity is an attempt by the RSS to distort tribal history,” said Devanand Pawar, member of the Maharashtra Congress Committee, who is also from the Banjara community.

However, the other section that supported the Kumbh, advocated for a closer alignment with Hinduism. A Banjara religious leader,  who is also named Mohan Singh Chavhan, informed the attendees at the Kumbh, about the resolution that had been passed by the community’s spiritual leaders.

He specified that all Banjara colonies would now have temples dedicated to Balaji, Jagdamba, and Krishna, and that every family from the community would take part in morning and evening Aarti (prayers). Furthermore, photos of Sevalal and Ramrao Bapu (religious figures from the community) and Guru Nanak Dev would be displayed in each home.

“All of us must write our religion as Hindu in the upcoming census,” urged Vinayakrao Deshpande, a leader from the Vishwa Hindu Parishad, another affiliate of the RSS.
