The Good Thackeray joins the Shinde Camp, and its game over for Uddhav

Maharashtra is not getting away from the continuous political crisis. Amid this, Uddhav Thackeray seems to be affected the most. First, he lost his Chief Ministerial chair, and then as a complementary political tactic, he almost lost his political party as well. Currently, Uddhav’s main goal is to continue the reign of Thackerays. However, every Thackeray is not with the same ambition.

Thackeray joins Shinde

Recently, the former Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Uddhav Thackeray experienced another big jolt which has further tattered his morale. From earlier losing the CM post to now suffering a betrayal from another Thackeray. He has recurrently been swayed in politics.

The incumbent Shiv Sena president’s nephew ‘Nihar Thackeray’ has joined the rebel Sena camp led by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.  The former is the son of the late Bindumadhav Thackeray, the eldest son of Sena founder Bal Saheb Thackeray.

This came into the limelight after a statement from Shinde’s office was released, informing the start of Nihar’s political journey with the Shinde camp. CM Eknath Shinde tweeted about the same.

Interestingly, earlier Smita Thackeray, the film producer and daughter-in-law of the late Shiv Sena founder Bala Saheb Thackeray met CM Eknath Shinde. Apparently, the Shiv Sena’s internal politics has rotten itself, resulting in the probable near destruction of Bala Saheb’s idea of Shiv Sena.

Uddhav is in a tattered phase

Shiv Sena as a political party has already experienced various blockades in its political journey. Sometimes, it has to struggle with votes while sometimes it had to face betrayal from its own party members. For past some time, almost everything that happened in Shiv Sena became a step closer to destruction.

As reported by TFI, Eknath Shinde is a staunch Shiv Sainik who got guidance directly from Bala Saheb Thackeray. His grip on party politics started with the very idea of the Hindutva plank. This further proved to be a threat to Uddhav Thackeray’s authority. Thus, Uddhav faced betrayal from his own Sainik. However, the crisis was in making since the day Uddhav Thackeray got into an unholy alliance with the “secular” parties.

In addition, Uddhav gradually lost his party MLAs as well. Nothing went alright in Shiv Sena. It was predicted way earlier that cross-voting will be visible in both Rajya Sabha and MLC elections. With this, Uddhav was left in an utter mess. Everything went for a toss for Uddhav Thackeray.

Though the former CM of Maharashtra tried almost every tactic for his existence, it was quite evident that he won’t be able to make it. Uddhav’s existential crisis was caused due to his own political greed.

Shinde’s rise started with Shiv Sena

With the recent elections, it became apparent that Shinde holds more confidence in support from the party MLAs and MPs, which further proved a dilapidated state for Thackerays. Eknath Shinde had the numbers on his side which molded the majority of Shiv Sena to his favour.

It was reported by TFI in June that after reaching Guwahati, it was claimed by Eknath Shinde that he holds the support of almost 40 MLAs of the party. By then itself, it was predicted that the BJP will topple the MVA government, and the evident result was clearly visible in the election results.

The Shiv Sena as a political party got split when more than two-thirds of its MLAs withdrew their support from the Maharashtra government led by Uddhav Thackeray, resulting in a victory opportunity for Eknath Shinde. Shinde was sworn in as the Maharashtra Chief Minister on June 30 with the support of the BJP.

Indeed, BJP’s support for Shinde proved to be a great asset for him in governing the state. Shinde’s Hindutva plank experienced a more strong backing with the BJP’s long-followed narrative of engraving saffron roots deep into the Indian arena.

To add to it, Eknath Shinde became the state Chief Minister at the mercy of the BJP. In actuality, it was a political tactic to save Shiv Sena from the clutches of Uddhav Thackeray. Apparently, the appointment of Devendra Fadnavis as the deputy CM was also a strategic move by the BJP to save Maharashtra from the unholy alliance of Maha Vikas Aghadi.

However, Uddhav’s aim to maintain the narrative that ‘Shiv Sena is for Thackeray’s and Thackeray’s are for Shiv Sena’, doesn’t seem to be a united aspiration for the entire family. And it is evident with Uddhav’s nephew, joining the Shinde camp.
