Career
His career in entertainment began in the 1990s when he became known as a member of the Indipop movement and issued an album that had regular playing on MTV India.
Since then, he has been well-known in the rap industry with songs like “Thanda Thanda Paani” (which sampled Vanilla Ice’s “Ice Ice Baby,” which itself copied Queen’s “Under Pressure”), “Manjula,” and “Dil Dhadke.”
Dilruba (1990), Sehgal’s debut album, was followed by Alibaba (1991). The first commercially successful Indian rap album was Thanda Thanda Pani (1992), which went on to become his biggest popular album and sell 5 million cassettes.
His next albums were Main Bhi Madonna (1993), Baba Bachao na (1993), Dr.Dhingra (1994), Miss 420 (1994) movie soundtrack, Double Gadbad (1994) movie soundtrack, Indian Romyo (1995), Tora Tora (1995), Loomba Loomba (1996), na aariya hai na jaroya hai (1997), America mein indian dhaba (1997), d.j. mix blue (1997), dhak dhak dil in culcutta (1997), A Reason to Smile (1997), meri jaan hindustan (1998), etc.

Baba Sehgal, who was born and raised in Lucknow, received his B.Tech. from the G. B. Pant University of Agriculture and Technology in Pantnagar, Nainital.
Baba is currently single and had a divorce from her ex-wife Anju. It is rumored that he is in an affair with Ashima Kalra, however, there is no verifiable source for that.
He was the music director of the 1995 film Dance Party, which featured the hit song “Orange kurta peela pajama,” “kapurthala se aaya hoon,” and “tere liye laaya hoon.”
He was the first artist from India to have a song video shown on MTV Asia, which at the time was based in Hong Kong.
