Recently, the first poster of Hollywood director Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer got released. It shows the devastating effects of the atomic bomb. The art piece will be starring Cillian Murphy, Robert Downey Jr, Matt Damon, Emily Blunt, and Florence Pugh in the titular role. It is all set to be screened in July 2023.
In the visually captivating poster, Cillian, who is known for his role in the series ‘Peaky Blinders’ and in films like Inception and Red Eye, is the center of all eyeballs. He stars in the upcoming film as theoretical physicist J Robert Oppenheimer, who led the Manhattan Project during World War II and is also known as one of the Fathers of the Atomic Bomb.
According to a report by Variety, an American media company, Oppenheimer film project will be marking the eighth collaboration between Nolan and the VGX studio. The project is considered a thriller for the audience to enthuse themselves with the pictured intellect of the mysterious man.
The recent art piece on Oppenheimer has emerged from a 2006 published book by Kai Bird and Martin Sherwin’s Pulitzer Prize-winning biography American Prometheus: The Triumph and Tragedy of J Robert Oppenheimer.
Robert Oppenheimer explained
Robert Oppenheimer was an American theoretical physicist, along with being one of the finest in nuclear technology. With the development of the first nuclear weapons in the Manhattan projects during world war II, he was credited as the “Father of the Atomic Bombs”.
Even after being a cognizant finer of atomic warhead, he opposed the development of hydrogen bombs during the 1949 – 50 governmental debates on defence-related issues. His stances provoked some factions of the U.S. government and military.

With this, he explained that Bhagavan Krishn is trying to persuade Arjun that “he should do his duty and, to enlighten him, takes on his multi-armed form and says, Now I become Death, the destroyer of worlds.”
To put it simply, Oppenheimer compared nuclear explosions with supreme force capable of destroying the whole world. In the same manner, he says death is the world’s destroying time. His words meant that “everything is in the hands of the divine.”
James A. Hijiya, Professor of History, University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, in his remarkable work ‘The Gita of J. Robert Oppenheimer’ connects him to the great warrior of the Mahabharata, Arjun. Hijiya remarked that a man who could get involved in so many public statements about the “sin”, “terror” and “inhumanity” of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, could also be the one who pushed for their use against Japan. However, it was not substantiated by any proof.
