Indian author and screenwriter Durjoy Datta is well-known for his coffee-table novels about the love lives of young Indians. Durjoy Datta was raised in New Delhi but was born on February 7, 1987, in Mehsana, Gujarat, to Bengali Hindu parents. After completing his education at Pitampura’s Bal Bharati Public School, he enrolled at Delhi Technological University to study mechanical engineering.
He majored in marketing and finance throughout his post-graduate studies at the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management in Germany and the Management Development Institute in Gurgaon, India.
While he was in his last year of college, he began writing. He left his position as a marketing analyst at American Express in 2011 and began writing full-time.
Avantika Mohan, a travel blogger and flight attendant, is his wife. Avantika was his girlfriend and they married in 2016.

In 2011, Whistling Woods International selected him as one of the two young achievers in the field of media and communications. His first program, Sadda Haq – My Life, My Choice, took home the prize for “Youth Show – Fiction” at the 2014 Zee Gold Awards and the 2014 and 2015 Indian Telly Awards.
