Deepika Chikhalia Biography and Career

Deepika Chikhalia is an Indian actress who was born in Mumbai. She grew up at Girnar Apartments in Pali Hills, a posh residential neighborhood in Mumbai’s Bandra region. Deepika has loved acting since she was a child. She began receiving invitations to work in films and serials while still in school. Deepika began her acting career at the age of 14 in films and television series. Career

Dipika Chikhlia Topiwala is well known for her role as Devi Sita in Ramanand Sagar’s Ramayan television series, as well as other Indian television serials. She was well recognized for her roles in the movie Sun Meri Laila (1983) with Raj Kiran and Rupaye Dus Karod, Ghar Ka Chiraag, and Khudai with Rajesh Khanna.

She has one Malayalam film with Mammootty, Ithile Iniyum Varu (1986), and two Kannada hits with Shankar Nag and Ambarish, Hosa Jeevana (1990), and Indrajith (1989). She made one Tamil hit film with Prabhu, Nangal (1992), and one Bengali hit film with Prosenjit Chatterjee, Asha O Bhalobasha (1989).

Glorious Days of Deepika Chikhalia

In 1987, Chikhlia played Sita, the female lead in Ramanand Sagar’s television series Ramayan. She starred in Ramanand Sagar’s Vikram Aur Betaal before acting in Ramayan. She continued to land lead roles in popular television shows such as The Sword of Tipu Sultan and Luv Kush (both in 1989). Ghar Ka Chiraag (1989) and Rupaye Dus Karod (1991), both starring Rajesh Khanna, were her sole Hindi film successes. She gained more screen time in the 1994 picture Khudai, although it was a box office flop. In the films Ghar Ka Chirag and Khudai, she played Rajesh Khanna’s love lead.

Her Kannada film with Shankar Nag as the lead heroine was a box office hit in 1990, as were her Bengali movie Asha O Bhalobasha (1989) with Prosenjit Chatterjee and Tamil film Naangal (1992) with Prabhu.

She also had a supporting part in Ithile Iniyum Varu (1986), a Malayalam film starring Mammootty. After the flop of Sanam Aap Ki Khatir (1992), in which she played the major lead heroine, she only had supporting roles in Hindi films.

Short biography of Deepika Chikhalia

Deepika Chikhalia transitioned from television and movies to politics in 1991, when she was elected to the Indian Lok Sabha from the Baroda constituency as a Bharatiya Janata Party candidate.

Hemant Topiwala, the owner of Shingar Bindi and Tips & Toes cosmetics, is her husband. Nidhi Topiwala and Juhi Topiwala are their two daughters.

Deepika Chikhalia also appeared in the Colors Gujarati channel’s TV series Chutta Chheda (2017). Nattsamrat, a Gujarati film, will be released in August 2018, and she will star in Gaalib, a Hindi film (2018-2019). Dipika Chikhlia is back at work.

She most recently appeared as Pari’s (Yami Gautam) mother in the film Bala (November 2019). She will portray the part of Sarojini Naidu in the upcoming biopic of the independence warrior.
