Roti, Kapda, and Makaan are fulfilled, now what’s next on your agenda dear Opposition?

  • Women, OBC, and large sections of SC, and ST voters are the main reason behind BJP’s success.
  • ‘Antyodaya’, the last mile delivery of welfare schemes, is the reason for this changing landscape.
  • This policy, saturation of welfare schemes has outshined yesteryear’s caste politics.
  • Once the party of urban folks has now become the world’s largest party.

The Saffron party has launched a fortnight-long ‘Samajik Nyay Pakhwada’ (fourteen days for social justice). Each day will be dedicated to one scheme showing the deliverables, data associated, and its impact. The party claims it is fulfilling the vision of ‘Roti, Kapda and Makaan’ which was promised by many but unfortunately done by none before Modi.

Roti – Food, Nutrition, Clean Water, Health, Hygiene & Sanitation

The Saffron party takes holistic steps in charting its schemes. It has adopted a multi-faceted approach to food and drinking water. Be it clean drinking water available to every household, affordable cooking gas to poor households, or the Pradhan Mantri Gareeb Kalyan Anna Yojana (PMGKAY). The focus of food distribution schemes is not just the quantity but also the quality of food grains and nutrients intake.

Because of the lack of micronutrients in the diet, malnourishment, and malnutrition are very common problems even in rich households. The fortification of essential food grains like rice, by the government, is a way to tackle the problem at the grass-root level which is effective, praiseworthy, and holistic. Other than poor dietary intake, poor sanitation and lack of clean drinking water are the main reasons for most viral diseases, which adversely affect all aspects of poor households including health, food, the standard of living, etc.

pic.twitter.com/RKz51iCDXZ

The government has taken due care of these aspects as well and tried to cover it up to the brim. Ayushman Bharat Yojana and Swachh Bharat or work towards ODF+ status are prime examples of it.

Kapda- Indian traditional apparel, not just for ourselves but for jobs and exports

Prime Minister has been promoting local handlooms, the traditional attire of all Indian states, and UTs. He has virtually donned every outfit or attire of Indian states, and tribes to popularise it through his subtle messaging. The schemes like PM Mega Integrated Textile Region and Apparel (MITRA) Schemes work on his 5F Vision i.e., Farm to Fibre to Factory to Fashion to Foreign. The Centre is pushing to create textile as the major sector for job employment and exports.

For that, it has announced to set up 7 Mega Textiles Park. The centre has sought proposals from the state and many states are keenly interested in this. The Production Linked Incentive Scheme (PLI) in the textile sector has become the centre of attraction for investors and would soon put India ahead of our Eastern Neighbour Bangladesh which has made a quantum jump in this field.

Makaan- Affordable Housing, Electricity, Basic Amenities like Toilet

House is a place where one feels safe, secure, and in the most relaxed state. Every person has a dream of having their own house, but it was a far-fetched dream for many decades. Schemes were announced earlier as well but very little change on the ground happened. But the implementation of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) at war footing has not just fulfilled their dreams but also given jobs to millions of Indians. The PM Awas allotted from the government coffers encompasses all basic amenities in it for the poor like a connection for affordable electricity and a toilet, etc. The condition of roads leading to these houses has also improved significantly.

pic.twitter.com/6jmMcMs21J

Aspirational Middle-Class

After ensuring all the basic needs of livelihood like Food, Clothing, and Shelter comes the need for Basic affordable education, the drastic improvement in drop-out rates, making education more understandable through learning in the mother tongue, etc.;  Rojgar (Jobs), Schemes like Pradhan Mantri Street Vendor’s AtmaNirbhar Nidhi (PM SVANidhi), revamped MGNREGA, etc; and for some, affordability of Internet connection for online study, e-commerce, etc., PM Wi-Fi Access Network Interface (PM WANI). Through these and many other schemes/steps in the aforementioned fields, the government is ensuring improvement in the standard of living of millions of Indians.

During the assembly election of five states, a video made rounds on social media which the Pradhan Sevak himself mentioned in his rally. The elderly woman in the video humbly and with love for his kid, Pradhan Sevak says “Humne Namak Khaya hai, Dhoka nhi denge…Modi Rashan Dio humey” ( We ate salt given by the Modi government and won’t betray him, he has given us food grains.) This is one of the umpteenth such testimonies of these welfare schemes.

It is with the principle (of 'antyodaya' — where no one is left behind) in mind that India today is moving forward on path of integrated equitable development. Our priority is that development should be all inclusive, all pervasive, universal and one that nurtures all: PM Modi pic.twitter.com/tSoRboQYlo

The slogan ‘Roti, Kapda, and Makaan’ has been echoing in the Indian polity for ages and was mere sloganeering. The saffron party with the fruition of the slogan through “Antyodaya” has changed the dynamic of how the polity of India will run from now on. Will the opposition live in la-la-land and not see the actual change and browbeat other issues or will it give a good competition to Modified polity? Only time has the answer for it or the politically sound voters of India.
