After destroying Congress, Sidhu sets his eyes on AAP

There is only one reason why Congress lost the battle in Punjab. It is because the party inducted Navjot Singh Sidhu as the PPCC Chief. However, it has now learnt the lesson and thus has removed him from the post. But, it’s too late as the party has already been shown the exit door in the recently concluded Punjab Assembly elections. A non-performing asset Sidhu seemingly is still not satisfied as he has now set his eyes on AAP to destroy the latter too.

Punjab CM Mann is an honest man for Sidhu

Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann’s ‘honesty’ is known by everyone. Also, everyone is aware of how opportunist Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu is. Thus, it really does not come as a surprise if Sidhu begins buttering up with Aam Aadmi Party because that’s what an opportunist like Sidhu will do. A few days after buttering up with Aam Aadmi Party, Sidhu is now heaping praise on newly inducted Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann.  In a laughable development, Sidhu called Mann an “honest man”.

Ironically, Sidhu, who was once doubtful that whether AAP will grow in the state, is now showering love on Mann. He said that “he would rise above party lines and support the Punjab CM in his decisions to tackle the mafia in the state.”

Wait, what? Here’s a twist. If you’re of the thought they both are on good terms and this is why Sidhu praised him, you’re wrong. Sidhu’s ‘honest’ praise for the CM seemingly is a gimmick as it comes only a day after he called Mann a puppet of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.

Is a change of mind possible in only one day? Well, it is not.

Sidhu shared a video clip on Twitter in which he can be seen interacting with the media about the Congress and its future in the state. He said that the Congress party needs to “reinvent” itself to storm to power in Punjab. He tweeted, “The Congress will have to reinvent to come back to power… Honest faces with moral authority and integrity will be the propellers. We are fighting a battle of existence for this great state… It’s either the Mafia or Honest people…”

Moving further in the video, Sidhu then can be heard praising CM Bhagwant Mann for the work he has done in the state. He stated, “I consider him my younger brother. He is an honest man. I have never raised a finger at him. If he fights against it (mafia), my support is with him. I will rise above party lines as it is a fight for Punjab’s existence.”

Contradicting himself, he had earlier stated that the Punjab government was being a ‘puppet’ that is following AAP supremo Aravind Kejriwal’s orders. Sidhu had shared a cartoon of Kejriwal riding a scooter. The scooter was named “Punjab govt” and CM Mann can be seen sitting in the front.

Pb Govt is acting like @ArvindKejriwal’s puppet… Police action against @DrKumarVishwas & @LambaAlka ji shows that it is being used to silence his critics… Congress stands firmly with Alka ji… Will accompany her to police station to protest against politicisation of Pb Police. pic.twitter.com/rarSg3CJh5

Sidhu and his love affair with AAP

Notably, when Sidhu resigned as Punjab Congress chief in October last year, political circles were abuzz with the speculations that he will plunge the Congress party into another crisis and join Aam Aadmi Party.

Moreover, in July 2021, disgruntled Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu heaped praise on the AAP for “recognising his work and vision.” Since the remarks came amidst infighting in the Punjab Congress, it made people assume that he could join the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).

Earlier as reported by TFI, in March 2022, Sidhu had taken to Twitter to congratulate Bhagwant Mann – the new Chief Minister of Punjab. He tweeted, “The happiest man is the one from whom no one expects. Bhagwant Mann unfurls a new anti-Mafia era in Punjab with a mountain of expectations …hopes he rises to the occasion, brings back Punjab on the revival path with pro-people policies … best always.”

Sidhu has already destroyed the Congress Party in the state of Punjab. He is now on his way to destroying AAP as well. Thus, he is attempting to butter up Bhagwant Mann. If AAP wants to protect the party and continue ruling the state, it needs to stay away from Sidhu and his opportunism.
