Recently, a debate was organized in St. Xavier’s College in Kolkata, known as a premier leftist institution. The debate was attended by prominent luminaries like Sanjeev Sanyal, Anand Ranganathan, Mani Shankar Aiyar to name a few. The subject was unique as well – Rewriting the Indian history from an Indian perspective. To everyone’s surprise, the nationalists ruled the roost, and in style.
While the ‘secular’ Congress party and liberals are hell-bent on endorsing the fake narrative presented by Marxist distorians and half-intellectuals, RSS is leaving no stone unturned to retaliate in the best way possible. Finally, nationalists have awakened to thrash liberals in their own hunt.
RSS to present ‘grand narrative’ of India
The RSS has stepped in with an exemplary decision to collaborate with researchers, authors and opinion-makers. With the collaboration, RSS aims at presenting a fact-based “grand narrative” of India to retaliate the attempts of spreading misunderstanding about the country. Several issues including how to define a true Indian society, its Hindu community, its history, culture and lifestyle, were the key point of the discussion during a three-day meeting of the Akhil Bharatiya Pratinidhi Sabha. There have been many historians with an alternative viewpoint like Vikram Sampath, Sanjeev Sanyal etc., who have endorsed a change in the narrative on the same lines a couple of days ago.
The ideological fountainhead of the BJP – RSS is gradually expanding its footprints all over the nation. The organisation aims to promote the idea of nationalism and unity among community members. While interacting with reporters on the last day of the meeting, RSS Sarkaryavah Dattatreya Hosabale said, “In India and abroad, there have been efforts, either out of ignorance or deliberately, to spread misunderstanding on the subjects related to India, which has been carried out since the time of the British till all these years.”
He further added, “There is a need to change this ideological narrative and encourage a grand narrative of Bharat based on facts. There is a need to present a true picture to the society on the subjects of India, its Hindu community, its history, culture, lifestyle.”
An annual report presented on Saturday noted that RSS has termed religious fanaticism as a threat. The report read, “Series of dastardly acts revealing communal hysteria, demonstrations, violation of social discipline, custom and conventions under the guise of the Constitution and religious freedom, inciting violence by instigating meagre causes, promoting illegal activities, etc, is increasing.”
Hosabale also referred to the Hijab controversy in Karnataka and suggested that there is a need to strike a balance. He stated, “There are certain disciplines about the society…In Haryana, people fought on the issue of aarti. It is not just right to say we have religious freedom. Someone framed a rule about school uniforms, it is not right to say we will not (follow it).”
He was apparently referring to the Hijab row in Karnataka. “Everybody has got religious freedom. There is a need to strike a balance about where to implement it and not. It is not right to carry out religious freedom under the garb of Constitution. We have started a discussion keeping this in view. Where to ask for what needs to be understood if one has to live with balance and coexistence.”
RSS efforts to change the ideological discourses can be seen in the backdrop of the spread of misinformation and misconception by the fundamental left-liberal forces about India. In recent years, there have been constant efforts by these forces to spread misinformation and create anarchy in Indian society, be it within India or through external forces.

Antonio Gramsci talks about the creation of cultural hegemony through intellectual and moral leadership. The pattern has been followed by the left-liberal forces, where they control every discourse of the country and the world. Through the Institutionalized process, they have hijacked the ideological narrative of India and minds accordingly. However, RSS has taken it upon itself to counter the fake narrative being presented by left-liberals.
