Tapu Mishra was an Indian playback singer who mostly performed in the Odia film industry. She has sung in over 150 films, including Mate Ta Love Helare, Dream Girl, and Love Dot Com, to name a few. Tapu Mishra was born on 11 January 1985 in Sambalpur, Odisha and died on 19 June 2021 in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, India at the age of 36.
Tapu Mishra, 36, died in Bhubaneswar on June 19, 2021, from COVID-19 complications. Online tributes were sent to her by CM Naveen Patnaik, Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, and OFDC Chairman Kuna Tripathy. Her funeral was attended by many members of the Odia film industry.
Early life and trainning
Tapu Mishra was born in the state of Odisha, in the city of Sambalpur. She began singing training with Prabhudatta Pradhan and Gyan Ranjan Mohapatra when she was quite young. She graduated from Sambalpur University with a degree in music and went on to Gandharva Mahavidyalaya to further her education.
Tapu Mishra made her playback singing debut in the Odia film Kula Nandan (1995), and has since sung over 500 songs. She sang in Bengali, Hindi, and other regional languages in addition to Odia. She was honored with four State Film Awards. In 2018, she married actor Deepak Pujahari.
Tapu Mishra Death Reason
Tapu died of complications and a serious lung infection after a month of fighting Covid. She had been on a ventilator for a few days and had not responded for the previous two. She was 36 years old at the time. With her unexpected death, the industry lost a versatile vocalist who had contributed her voice to over 500 songs in over 150 Odia films, albums, and devotional songs throughout the course of her two-decade career.
She tested positive on May 19 and was placed in home isolation, according to family sources. After her oxygen saturation dropped to 45 on May 31, she was transferred to a private hospital. She was later transferred to Sum Covid Hospital, where she died ten days later. Her lung infection became serious despite the fact that she tested negative.

Tapu’s family wanted the government to assemble a team of doctors to better treat her, and they also intended to relocate her to another state. On Friday, the culture department approved a one-lakh grant from the Artist Welfare Fund for her treatment.
Naveen Patnaik, the chief minister, turned to Twitter to say: “I am deeply saddened over the death of popular singer Tapu Mishra. She will always be remembered for her achievements in the Odia film industry. May her soul rest in peace and my condolences are with the bereaved family.”
Dharmendra Pradhan, a Union minister, also expressed sorrow over Tapu’s death, saying that her seductive voice made her popular in Odia households. “Odisha lost a very great singer with her death,” he wrote on Facebook.
Several people of the film industry flocked to her Palasuni home and then to the Satyanagar crematorium to pay their final respects to Tapu Mishra Biography, whose last rites were performed on Sunday morning according to Covid rules.
