Forced to convert, Lavanya killed herself. Now, Tamil Nadu media is attacking her family

Forced to convert, Lavanya killed herself. Now, Tamil Nadu media is attacking her family
Share on FacebookShare on X

Conversion is not a new problem miring the Hindu society. However, the way media treats it is becoming a cause of concern for the majority of this country. Another one of such mistreatment is currently going on in Tamil Nadu. Tamil media is attacking the family of Lavanya, who had killed herself.

17-year old commits suicide due to forced conversion

Recently, a 17-year old child had to kill herself due to being constantly pressurized to change her religion from Hinduism to Christianity. She was a student of Sacred Heart Higher Secondary School, Thirukattupali in Thanjavur. Sacred Heart is a government-aided Christian school.

Apparently, Lavanya was being coerced with indirect measures to convert. The coercion came in the form of punishment. At the time when other children had gone for Pongal holidays, Lavanya was forced to clean toilets, wash dishes and do other chores. The little kid could not near the pain and drank pesticide.

In her dying declaration, Lavanya had said, “My name is Lalita (name changed). They (school) had asked my parents in my presence if they can convert me to Christianity and help her for further studies. Since I didn’t accept, they kept scolding me”

Media bias explicitly visible

Meanwhile, the media did not cover it with a conversion angle. Times of India tried to twist it as a suicide by the child who could not bear the stress. Even after the conversion angle was revealed, the media tried its best to suggest otherwise. When Lavanya’s mother was describing her plight, the reporters tried to obfuscate the issue.

When the mother was stating that Lavanya had killed herself after being forced for conversion, media persons asked her about police denying these claims. Poor mother lost her patience with the media and said “Do you want to say what she said in her dying declaration is false”?

Heartless. Heartless media people. Deceased #Lavanya’s parent explaining how she was tortured to convert to Christianity & these media people repeatedly drilling her mercilessly to corner her in support of the school. Absolutely disgraced with this insensitive, shameless conduct. pic.twitter.com/y3V0UqF6Fx

Media criticised for insensitive coverage

The lopsided coverage from media was criticised by every corner of the public space.
SG Suryah, Company Secretary and BJP media spokesperson called irrational questioning of the mother as the lowest point of media coverage.

I'm pained, appalled & disgraced with how certain Tamil media houses/people behave in #JusticeForLavanya! This is the lowest point, it is vindicated that she was forced to convert. From deceased #Lavanya to her family is being targeted just because they are standing by the truth.

— Dr.SG Suryah (@SuryahSG) January 21, 2022

R Rajagopalan, a well-known journalist showcased how 7 popular Tamil TV blacked out the conversion angle in suicide.

A blackout by 7 popular Tamil tv-of Lavanya 17 year student two years tortured hacked to death news by a nun to convert Hinduism to Christianity. No news clip no debate.People are angry. Kapil Mishra, a prominent BJP leader slammed the silence of every section including media, judiciary and political class.

Shameless silence of media, judiciary and political class on the murder of young girl lavanya by school authorities in Tamilanadu

Lavanya is killed by fraud missionaries who think they are free to convert anyone illegally#JusticeforLavanya

— Kapil Mishra (Modi Ka Pariwar) (@KapilMishra_IND) January 21, 2022

Anshul Saxena, another prominent social media influencer criticised media for ignoring the conversion angle.

Lavanya, student of Sacred Heart School, Tamil Nadu, committed suicide, said in video:

1. She was tortured by school for refusing to convert to Christianity

2. She was forced to clean rooms.

Many media ignored her statement on 'conversion' & only mentioned about cleaning rooms pic.twitter.com/3H4fEwFuBi

— Anshul Saxena (@AskAnshul) January 22, 2022

Various other tweets were sent in support of Lavanya.

Welcome the judgment by the Madurai High Court today!

Let the deceased girl get her dignity & even that was denied by the one sided investigation! The focus till now was on harassing the parents; whistle blowers in this case & the people who were giving their voice for justice! pic.twitter.com/IMyO4STbdH

— K.Annamalai (மோடியின் குடும்பம்) (@annamalai_k) January 22, 2022

Those who are funded by missionaries will not dare to raise their voice for Lavanya.

This conversion nexus has been hollowing the roots of our culture and our civilization.

Request all to raise their voice

We want #JusticeFor_TNHinduGirl
We want #JusticeForLavanya 🙏🏻 pic.twitter.com/6VXtVtjv5o

— Ashish Jaggi (@AshishJaggi) January 23, 2022

The way people in the public domain have come out in support of Lavanya is a clear indication of the fact that Hindus are more aware than ever of Conversions. The media should learn some lessons from these individuals. Conversions are real and they have been going on in India for the last 400-500 years. Ignoring it will not solve the problem; it will only lead to the illegitimacy of traditional media.

This is the best example of sold out media in tamil Nadu. Not one mainstream media covered it. They don’t even talk about it. Total apathy disgusting DMK government owns all the media

Yes this is the blatant attach on media by DMK and state Govt’s interference in the religious rights of the deceased girl Lavanya. Citizens must voice and demand justice for Hindu girl Lavanya and Milords and courts must punish the fraudulent and forced conversion missionaries. While innocent Hindu people are dyeing, Milords and courts are enjoining the show?

Enough is enough with fraudulent and forced conversion missionaries and Supreme court judges must wake up from slumber and think that Hindus too are humans and they to have rights and feelings and BAN these forced conversions forever. These kind of atrocities have no place in a secularist democracy.

This is not suicide, it’s a Hindu Genocide due to forced conversions by the fraud Christian missionaries using flow of Foreign funding into the country and the Modi Govt, supreme court, Hindu organizations and Hindus are responsible for letting this Genocide to continue.

MSM media in TN is aptly mocked as DMK godi media with most of them either being fundamentalist in ideology or controlled by the DMK family. Therefore issues which are embarassing or difficult for the party to handle will be distorted or brushed under the carpet and the party’s PR factory will be activated from all angles! That’s how the DMK govt. has been fooling gullible voters of its poor disaster & relief management & civic services when TN was hit by torrential rainfall a couple of months back. Although the govt. was exposed left, right & center on social media, unfortunately it wasn’t on TV & newspaper, both of which have a much larger reach with the people of TN.

Another important point to be noted is that the DMK party’s win in the assembly elections last year had a massive support from the rice bag lobby with many rice bag missionaries & NGOs splurging insane amounts of money to make the party win so they can implement their insidious agendas with support from the govt. This is exactly the reason why:
    1. the DMK party has recruited a record number of crypto rice bags into its cabinet

    2. You don’t and you won’t get to see the temple vandalism, rapes, sexual abuses, hate speeches, forced conversions and all other atrocities committed by the rice bag community reported by the MSM or any quality action or condemnation against it from the fundamentalist political parties in TN including the DMK

    3. Worst of all is how those very few sane, rational court judges, pronouncing verdicts against those criminal rice bags, get hounded & abused in the vilest manner possible by soriyaar fundamentalists & their illegitimate minions with some of them even facing threats from this cabal!
