Anuya Y Bhagvath is an actress and model from India who has acted in Tamil films. She is most recognized for her roles in Rajesh’s Siva Manasula Sakthi (2009) and Shankar’s Nanban (both directed by Rajesh) (2012).

Career of Anuya Bhagvath

Anuya Y Bhagvath made her acting debut in Kranti Kanade’s Hindi children’s film Mahek. The film had its world premiere at the London Film Festival and received critical acclaim, garnering nominations for Best Picture at the WorldFest-Houston International Film Festival. Bhagvath’s success came in her next film, Rajesh’s romantic comedy Siva Manasula Sakthi (2009), in which she co-starred with Jiiva in the eponymous character. She nearly survived a terror assault while staying at a hotel in Mumbai just before the film’s release.

Anuya Bhagvath then worked on Youreka’s film Madurai Sambavam (2009), which was shot on a low budget and set in Madurai. According to a Sify critic, “Anuya is great in a deglamorized part as the diabolical cop who falls for the troublemaker. She is a talented actor that brings a lot of heart and realism to her work.”

This led to minor appearances in Vijay Antony’s Naan (2012) and a promotional song in Nanjupuram, as well as a role in Nagaram alongside Sundar C. (2011). She stated that she will not be undertaking any more cameo roles in the future after appearing in S. Shankar’s Nanban. Anuya Bhagvath later appeared in the first season of Bigg Boss Tamil in 2017, but was the first competitor to be evicted. She later stated that other candidates were less supportive of her appearance on the show because she couldn’t speak Tamil fluently.

She also acted on Siya Ke Ram (Sita’s Ram) is a Star Plus television series produced by Nikhil Sinha under the Triangle Film Company label. This performance tells the story of Rama and Devi Sita from Sita’s point of view in the epic Ramayana. Goddess Sita and Lord Rama are played by Madirakshi Mundle and Ashish Sharma, respectively, and Raavan is played by Karthik Jayaram. It began on November 16, 2015, and ended on November 4, 2016.
