Ananya Jamwal and Monika Langeh: How two bravehearts of Jammu rattled Kashmiri Islamists

In an era when students from Jawaharlal Nehru University raise slogans like ‘Bharat Tere Tukde Honge’ to accelerate their political journey, two female bravehearts have rattled Kashmiri anti-national Islamists with simple acts of saying what they believe.

Two medicos expose the Islamists:

Ananya Jamwal and Monika Langeh are two new targets for Islamists trying to stop the pro-India wave sweeping Jammu and Kashmir, after the abrogation of Article 370 from the region. Ananya Jamwal, who is currently in the final year of her MBBS degree course, has been the main target of the Islamists.

Jamwal’s name first came to light when she shared a video of Kashmiri students raising pro-Pakistan slogans and celebrating Pakistan’s victory over India in the 2021 T20 Men’s World Cup. Ever since she shared the video, Ananya has been a target of incessant threats, abuse and trolling by various students, as well as terrorist organisations operating in the region; she has been called various names like ‘traitor’, ‘sanghi’ and ‘RSS agent’.

Talking to India TV, Ananya informed the nation that she was not the one who initially shared the videos. “I want to say this that I am just a common citizen of India who is raising her voice for India”, she said. Ananya also squashed any apprehensions of fear of terrorists. Meanwhile, her batchmates tried to thrust their soft power on her, by calling her out on her ‘disloyalty’ to the Kashmiris, who gave her hospitality in the college. Ananya retorted with a factual slap for her batchmates when she said, “So I just want to say to them that I was not living in your homes… I completed my NEET and was living in a medical college… my country…”. Meanwhile, responding to the ‘Gareeb headmaster ka beta’ type fallacy of liberals, Ananya refused to call those students immature and pointed out that preparing for a national level competitive examination like NEET is good enough to make someone mature.

Jammu and Kashmir police have registered two cases under UAPA, against students studying in Srinagar’s Government Medical College in Karan Nagar and SKIMS Soura.

Terrorist outfit threatens brave daughters of India:

United Liberation Front (ULF), which earlier had taken responsibility for killing migrant workers in the region, has threatened Ananya and others who have raised their voices against pro-Pakistan slogans. In a statement, ULF said, “We are having full input on who is behind these FIRs. The non-local employees and students are warned not to indulge in such activities,”. The threatening letter further read, “We are warning the elements because we know who these are. 48 hours are given to apologize. Otherwise, they will have to face the consequences… We have already warned them not to indulge in any non-Kashmiri activities. Otherwise, we will not differentiate who is what. All non-local employees and students who have given complaints to doctors and students in police station Soura, Karan Nagar… are being warned. We are all watching. Don’t blame it later which will wreak havoc on you”.

It’s sad to see that some non-local students including girls are being harassed by those who indulged in Anti-India sloganeering in Kashmir. Harassment has now led to this threat by Pakistani terror group front of Lashkar e Tayyiba. J&K Police has taken cognizance of the matter. pic.twitter.com/C8WTgTtYAh

Dr. Monika Langeh was the one who actually dared Islamists:

Although Ananya has become the face of dissent against pro-Pakistani elements in Kashmir, her senior, Dr. Monika Langeh is believed to be the one who first exposed these traitors. Speaking to Ashok Srivastava of DD News, she described how her juniors are threatened by various pro-Pakistan elements in colleges. She got the video from one of her juniors who requested her not to share them, fearing for their lives. However, she proceeded to share the video, and further explained her responsibility towards the nation. According to Dr. Monika, anti-India slogans and celebrations of Pakistan have been going in those colleges, since a long time. When she saw her juniors facing the same problem as she had faced, she decided to shield future generations from such non-sensical activities. Monika went on to explain how one citizen raising voice is good enough to boot Islamists out of the valley. She also appreciated Ananya for standing her ground.

— Ashok Shrivastav (@AshokShrivasta6) October 29, 2021

Islamists try to hound, but nationalists lay their support:

Videos shared by Dr. Monika on social media showed how students from Government Medical College (GMC), Srinagar and Sher E Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences Srinagar (SKIMS) were celebrating Pakistan’s victory. Video from GMC is particularly significant, as in this video, girls were seen cheering for Pakistan – the same Pakistan which along with the Taliban does not consider females anything more than child-producing machines.

Ananya is an ex-student of SKIMS and had taken migration to GMC in the second year of her MBBS. When she shared the videos, Islamists decided to hound Ananya for raising her voice. Abdullah Ghazi in particular (journalist at Kashmir Reporter), was vicious against her and posted her photos whilst calling her an RSS member. Furthermore, a female collegemate of Ananya kept hounding her on Twitter. Ananya, after joining Twitter on the insistence of Dr. Monika, fiercely replied to her vicious campaign. This retaliation by Ananya was termed a threat by Abdullah.

https://twitter.com/Abdullah__Ghazi/status/1453003973275889677

Can he prove these allegations and why he is threatening me? @JmuKmrPolice @NIA_India @drmonika_langeh @Chatterj1Asking @iSinghApurva @rajnathsingh @AmitShah @narendramodi I am feeling threatened. What is their motive? https://t.co/m3p68ozqll

— Dr.Ananya Jamwal 🇮🇳 (@AnanyaJamwal2) October 26, 2021

When Ananya joined Twitter, the whole nation decided to stand in solidarity with her, and hundreds of tweets were sent supporting the brave-hearted final year prodigy. As of this writing, Ananya has garnered more than 20000 nationalist followers on Twitter, for her brave and strong stance. Meanwhile, Mehak Firdous, the girl who was shamelessly hounding Ananya has deleted her account, owing to the widespread support for Ananya and Dr. Monika on the social media platform.

https://twitter.com/TheIndianHuman/status/1453401894848630786?s=20

Dear @Mehak_Firdous your threats are too shallow. Ap bhi yad rakhenge ki ek Hindustani 🇮🇳 Skims mai pdti thi. Aur hazar hindustani skims mai ayenge , SKIMS HUMARA HAI , SKIMS IS IN INDIA. You can take your train . Come lets storm twitter. pic.twitter.com/94QQShrEAR

— Dr.Ananya Jamwal 🇮🇳 (@AnanyaJamwal2) October 26, 2021

Celebrating Pakistan in India is NOT tolerable anymore:

As Pakistan registered its 10-wicket victory against India, various anti-nationals openly celebrated the terrorist nation’s victory. Various videos of bursting of crackers and other celebratory activities immediately went viral on social media. However, this time the anti-nationals faced a severe backlash from nationalists. In Punjab, various Kashmiri students were allegedly beaten black and blue by UP and Bihar students for their celebrations, while the UP government took strict actions on those trying to negatively impact social harmony.

Also read: UAPA against Pakistan’s cheerleaders in India is a step that will go a long way in crushing anti-nationals

After Prime Minister Narendra Modi decided to remove Article 370 from the Kashmir valley, terror activities have drastically reduced from the region. Though the people of the valley had to make temporary sacrifices (like the internet shutdown) for this peace, it is turning out to be boon for the beautiful Indian valley. The terrorists, who have now a negligible presence in the region, are trying to resurrect themselves by casting fear in the minds of the general populace. However, as lesser educated people are trying to flourish, educated ones are supporting terrorist groups engaged in creating nuisance in the region. But not anymore, since Dr. Monika Langeh and Ananya Jamwal have set a precedent for future generations to follow.
