On Sunday, veteran senior actor Mr Anupam Shyamji at the age of 63 left to heavenly abode due to complications in health and multiple organ failure. In a recent explosive interview, Anupam’s brother Anurag revealed how the former actor during times of dire need and extreme health conditions was abandoned by Aamir Khan and was supported by UP CM Yogi Adityanath.
After the demise, Anupam’s brother Anurag made some shocking revelations about how Aamir Khan used to ignore calls of the late actor. During his last days, Aamir Khan assured that he will arrange a dialysis centre for Anupam in Pratapgarh, Uttar Pradesh. The actor wasn’t keeping well for the last few years and was on dialysis. His demise is a huge loss for the entire film fraternity.
Apart from this Anupam Shyam’s brother also said that the late actor was worried that his show ‘Mann Ki Pratigya 2‘ would be pulled off.
Anurag said that Anupam was upset about not being able to meet his ailing mother, as it would have posed a health risk for him since there were no dialysis centres in Pratapgarh. She passed away last month.
“Our family has been facing a lot. My mother died last month. Anupam was shocked that he could not go to Pratapgarh (where their mother stayed). Without a dialysis centre in the town, going there would have been a major health risk for Anupam. We urged for a dialysis centre in Pratapgarh and Anupam even went to Aamir Khan for the same. Aamir Khan assured us but stopped picking our calls after a few months,” Anurag told AajTak.
Anupam Shyam was seen alongside Aamir Khan in the blockbuster film Lagaan. He also acted in the Academy Award-winning film Slumdog Millionaire, National Award-winning film Bandit Queen and many more. Back in 2020, his condition got hypercritical, and he was admitted into ICU and was put on dialysis.
In his difficult times, UP’s CM Yogi Adityanath supported him with Rs.20 Lakh as an aid to help for the treatment, followed by “Cine And TV Artistes’ Association” (CINTAA), and Bollywood actor Sonu Sood also came forward for help. In an emotional letter, the actor had mentioned that he would like to meet Yogi Adityanath and personally thank him when he recovers. Action speaks louder than words here, as the two-faced personality of Amir Khan is exposed, who abandoned the dying actor during his last days.
In an interview, late Anupam Shyamji mentioned that when Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister came to know about the health condition, he transferred Rs.20 Lakh in his account. “He knows me personally and like my work. His financial support helped me during the crisis. I also had some savings that I used for treatment. Now, as I am back to work, I hope I will be able to save money for the future,” the actor had said. Unfortunately, the actor took his last breath on Sunday.
