No one can ever predict what Beijing is up to. First, the CCP regime of China created a deadly virus, then it concealed the upcoming Pandemic from the entire world. And now China could be trying to flood the city of Wuhan- the original epicentre of the COVID-19 Pandemic in order to prevent a World Health Organisation (WHO) investigation scheduled for the next week.
Wuhan is witnessing the worst floods since 1961. Eight people have died thus far and the city, therefore, stands locked down once again. The Chinese Meteorological Department has issued warnings of rainstorms for the next 31 days.
But questions are being raised on China’s real intention and whether the devastating floods in Central China, including Wuhan, are really a natural calamity?
At the centre of the entire controversy is a monstrous dam situated 368 kilometres away from Wuhan. We are talking about the Three Gorges Dam, the world’s largest power station in terms of installed capacity that has been built on the Yangtze River.
Situated in the Yiling district, this Dam is believed to be the cause of the devastating floods in Central China that have put millions at risk.
Reports suggest that the floods in Wuhan and elsewhere are a result of a massive floodwater discharge from its spillways. However, Beijing continues to claim that the dam has nothing to do with the floods.
According to Taiwan News, residents have been complaining that their lives are being sacrificed in order to save the humongous dam. On June 29, the Chinese government finally admitted that it had implemented its first “floodwater discharge” of the year.
The Chinese government had also made it clear that a new wave of floodwater was reaching the Three Gorges catchment area.
Chinese authorities say that the dam is on the verge of collapse. This is necessitating the release of floodwater from the spillways of the monster dam. Consequently, cities like Hubei’s Yichang and Wuhan which are situated on the lower reaches of the Yangtze River, below the vaunted dam are getting flooded.
Chinese activists fear that the release floodwater from the Three Gorges Dam is deliberate. Jennifer Zeng, a Chinese activist claims that the move was undertaken intentionally.
Zeng believes that Chinese authorities want to literally wash off evidence against China and its involvement in the Wuhan virus Pandemic.
China has a lot to hide. Beijing has been underreporting its Coronavirus numbers and deaths. The official Chinese numbers claim that there were less than one lakh cases and just 3,300 deaths across the country due to the infection that originated in Wuhan.
But this isn’t really reliable. Throughout the months of December and January, China was busy hiding rather than tackling the Pandemic. Ordinary prudence dictates that widespread damage would have been caused all this while.
Reports of Wuhan distributing 40,000 urns in 10 days tells a completely different story. And then in early June, there were reports of 200 asymptomatic patients testing positive in Wuhan. Again these are just official Chinese numbers. We can never tell if Wuhan is still suffering from the virus that originated there.
And then Beijing also wants to hide the infamous lab- the Wuhan Institute of Virology. Across the world, it is being alleged that the COVID-19 Pandemic originated from this lab where research activity regarding Coronavirus is known to have taken place. With widespread floods, it becomes easy for China to block the world’s access to this infamous lab.
Wuhan is thus becoming the biggest enigma for the world at large. Till now, we were wondering if the Wuhan virus is man-made and now we are left guessing if the Wuhan floods too are man-made.
