Madhya Pradesh politics continues to ignite towards a major shake up, even as it has been reported that BJP is going to start ‘Operation Anjaam’ in order to bring the ongoing political developments in the state to a reasonable conclusion.
According to a Jagran report, former BJP President and sitting Union Home Minister Amit Shah has himself entered the scenario. Amit Shah’s involvement can further aggravated the ongoing crisis within the Congress.
As a part of this ambitious Operation, Amit Shah met state leader and former Union Minister Narendra Singh Tomar, former Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Union Peteoleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
Jagran has stated that according to reliable sources, the BJP is now fed up with the ambivalence of the Independent MLAs. Therefore, the party is now going to focus its energies upon the lawmakers of other parties. The Congress had not gained majority on its own and had garnered support of the SP and BSP MLAs. Thus, there are parties from three different legislators who might want to switch loyalties to the BJP.
The report has also quoted reliable sources as saying that the BJP has already established contact with some legislators.
The Kamal Nath led government in Madhya Pradesh is already passing through troubled waters. The Madhya Pradesh unit of the Congress was recently embroiled in a crisis when it came really close to a major coup.
In late night drama on Tuesday, eight of Congress MLAs were doing in a Gurugram hotel. Senior Congress leader and Madhya Pradesh Finance Minister Tarun Bhanot had claimed that these MLAs were being held by the BJP at a Gurugram hotel.
Moreover, former Madhya Pradesh water resources minister and senior BJP leader Narottam Mishra, 15-20 Congress lawmakers are in touch with the BJP.
In fact, the Congress has been battling intense infighting and fissures owing to the conflict between Jyotiraditya Scindia and Chief Minister Kamal Nath for quite some time.
Recently, Scindia had threatened to hit the streets if the Congress government in the state doesn’t fulfill its promises of farm loan waiver and absorption of guest teachers in state government service. His remarks had provoked a terse, angry reply from the Madhya Pradesh CM, Kamal Nath who said, said, “Toh utar jayein (Let him hit the streets if he wants to).”
The grand old party has clearly failed to keep its house in order, and the ongoing duel between the Scindia faction and the Kamal Nath faction seems to be disillusioning its lawmakers further. In such a backdrop, Amit Shah’s outreach to Madhya Pradesh is set to give some rather anxious moments to the Congress in Madhya Pradesh. With this, Madhya Pradesh might just be bracing up for another Karnataka like turnaround.
