Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury – The man who is destined to finish the pious work that Rahul Gandhi started

Once in a generation legend

Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, Rahul Gandhi, Congress

Rahul Gandhi needs no introduction. The Congress politician has been more of a boon for his principal opposition i.e. BJP rather than his own party. From devising new mathematical figures to explaining his harebrained schemes of converting potato to gold, there is nothing that the ‘PM in making forever’ has not done in order to sway the crowds into this favour. He isn’t anointed as the star campaigner of BJP for nothing.

Now it looks like someone has taken up the mantle for completing Rahul’s unfinished task, i.e. annihilating Congress completely in Indian politics. This man is none other than Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, the current leader of Congress in Lok Sabha. With his barrage of nonsensical statements, Adhir Ranjan looks all set to annihilate whatever is remaining of Congress party in national politics.

Recently, Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury raised eyebrows when he commented on the Unnao rape victim being set ablaze. He said, “Sita is being burnt while plans are afoot to build a Ram temple.” However, this is not the first such idiotic statement that this motormouth has spoken in the chambers of the Parliament.

Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury is well known for being outspoken. While that is not a bad thing, the real problem lies in what he actually speaks. Ever since he assumed the post of the Leader of Congress in Lok Sabha, Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury has made it only worse for his own party with his seemingly ‘gargantuan’ statements that are nothing but utter nonsense. One should’ve seen it coming when he once insulted PM Narendra Modi by comparing him with ‘Gandi Naali’.

During his inaugural speech at the motion of thanks to the President’s address, when Pratap Chandra Sarangi objected to his absurd logic, saying, “At least we didn’t hold this notion like you that India is Indira and Indira is India,” it was at this moment that Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury mentioned, “Kahan Maa Ganga aur Kahan Gandi Naali” (How can Mother Ganga be compared with a dirty drain, basically comparing Indira Gandhi’s legacy with that of Narendra Modi). However, this was only the beginning. Adhir’s approach is crystal clear: defend the Nehru Gandhi family and their ideals come what may. However the way he executes his approach is not only atrocious, but also equally hilarious.

When the discussion on abrogating Article 370’s special status provisions was being held in Lok Sabha, Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury shocked one and all by echoing the sentiments of our rival nation by Pakistan by mentioning, “Our question is how can this be considered as an internal matter? Some days ago, external affairs minister S. Jaishankar spoke to (US secretary of state Mike) Pompeo and then too it was said that this was a bilateral issue. We need to resolve this. You will have to clarify on this. Whether it is internal, bilateral and whether you can do it on your own or not.”

Apart from terming the Central Government’s decision as fascist or comparing the situation of the Kashmiris as that of the Jews in the Nazi concentration camps, Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury has done his best to make sure that Congress does not salvage even the little that is left for the Grand Old Party that once called the shots in the entire nation.

Likewise, when Home Minister Amit Shah recently announced his plans of implementing a pan Indian NRC, Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury went completely bonkers. After a long rant against the envisioned implementation of a pan-India NRC, Chowdhury said, “Hindustan sab ke liye hai, ye Hindustan kisi ki jageer hai kya? Sabka samaan adhikaar hai. Amit Shah ji, Narendra Modi ji, aap khud ‘ghuspetiye’ hain. Ghar aapka Gujarat, agaye Dilli, aap khud migrant hain.” One must salute this man for having the audacity to speak nonsense with such confidence.

Even as the news of the accused in the Hyderabad rape case being shot dead in the encounter surfaced, like a true blue liberal, Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury was quick in questioning the authencity of the encounter, with logic that would put even the likes of Arvind Kejriwal and Rahul Gandhi to shame. It seems that Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury has taken it upon himself to fulfill the task that was started electorally by Rahul Gandhi. If Rahul Gandhi ensured that Congress is no more a major power in the country, Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury shall ensure this quote for the future generations – Once upon a time, there was Congress.
