The award-wapsi brigade, Khan Market gang and the Lutyens cabal are all synonyms for the same bunch of left liberals who seem to be personally retained by the first family of the country. This group of people goes out of its way to hush-up anything related to Congress’ misdeeds; be it scams, controversies or misgovernance. The latest instance of this is their muteness on the Alwar rape incident.
A woman in Alwar was brutally raped in front of her husband by 6 men. The case thereupon witnessed several irregularities by the state as the FIR for the case was only filed on 7th May whereas the gruesome incident was reported on 30th April itself. The husband of the victim stated that the police did not act quickly because of the election. Congress is currently in power at the state level and obviously did not want to arouse any negativity in their regime, which would impact the Lok Sabha elections, the polling date for which was April 29th and May 6th in the state. Strangely enough, the FIR was registered a day after the polling was over.
In light of this, the BJP is questioning the strange silence of the left liberals. Generally quite vocal about minority rights and intolerance in the country, they now seem to have lost their voice. PM Modi, while closing in on the “Award Wapsi gang” stated that the gang has shied away from standing up for the Dalit raped woman. In his rally in Ghazipur yesterday, he said, “I want to ask the ‘award-wapasi’ gang why they are silent on the rape of Alwar’s daughter. The Congress too has not taken up the issue.” He further took a dig on Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot and said that the Congress was covering up the incident to hide the law and order situation in the state. He said, “The crime was hushed up by the Congress government as Rajasthan was going to polls. Had the intentions of the Congress been right, they would have never tried to hide the case. This is the truth of the Congress’s ‘nyay’ (justice).” He referred the Congress as a “mahamilawat” party that has since the last 60 years, worked on the principle of “hua toh hua”.
Continuing PM Modi’s take on the “Award Wapsi gang”, BJP leader Sambit Patra tweeted that “in Congress Ruled Rajasthan the cops sat on Dalit gangrape for 7 days and waited for the polls to end. If the same would have happened in a BJP ruled state, the gang of liberals would have unleashed their most scathing attack on Modi.”’

Understanding Congress’ role in this gross injustice for accruing political benefits, even the BSP leader Mayawati, who is an arch rival of the BJP and is supporting the Congress government in the state said, “The Congress government suppressed this incident until the end of election in Rajasthan to preserve their political benefits and threatened the family of the victim to keep quiet about it”.

The left liberals are simply furthering the agenda that the grand old party wants to establish. All they do is criticise any government which isn’t Congress and attack the political parties on the issues favouring Congress. An instance of this is, how they were completely comfortable with the “Chowkidar chor hai” slogan but as soon as PM Modi called a Congressi corrupt, with due evidence, they went ballistic.
The hypocrisy of the award wapsi gang and the likes of it are becoming clearer every day. In his interview to Indian Express, Pm Modi stated, “Modi’s image has not been created by the Khan Market gang, or Lutyens Delhi, but 45 years of his toil… good or bad. You cannot dismantle it. But Lutyens and the Khan Market gang created an image for a former Prime Minister [Rajiv Gandhi], ‘Mr Clean, Mr Clean’; how did it end up?”
Calling on to their pseudo secularity, PM Modi said never has Congress given leadership to any Muslim; and yet the liberals are mute. Their attempts to establish a negative image of PM Modi has blown up in their faces. Due to their bias views, no prudent person puts their trust in the left liberal’s opinions. By exercising such tactics of ignorance on Congress irregularities, and overly vocal in others’, the left liberals have jeopardized their own credibility.
