Recently, a wedding invitation by a couple based in the famous city of Surat in Gujarat has taken the social media by storm. Now, in a sweet surprise for the duo, PM Modi himself responded to the invitation. Not only did he appreciate the gesture, but also he blessed the couple for their wedding, which was held recently on January 22.
Yuvraj Pokharna, who happens to be a self-confessed BJP supporter as well, recently tied the knot with Sakshi Agarwal. The couple had given a unique invitation to one and all for the wedding. On the second page of the invitation, the couple has given justification of the controversial defence deal that would enable the Indian Air Force to possess the much talked about Rafale fighter jets. To quote the beginning of this quirky innovation, “Some Facts about Rafale Deal……. Even a fool will not compare prices of a simple fly away Aircraft with a weaponized Jet.”
This was followed by the facts and figures related to the crucial deal, and also supported the NDA government in this deal. They also made a sweet appeal to the invitees to vote for the party in the upcoming 2019 elections.
Following the overwhelming response to the invitation on social media, the couple received another sweet surprise. In a letter sent to the couple, PM Modi himself appreciated the contents of the letter as being ‘ingenious’ and inspiring him to ‘work harder for the country.’
To quote the letter by PM Modi, “Heartiest congratulations to Pokharna family on the joyous occasion of the marriage of Yuvraj and Sakshi. I noticed a unique feature sent on the marriage invitation sent to the guests. The ingenuity of its content reflects your abiding concern and love for the nation. This also inspires me to keep working harder for the country. Best wishes and blessings to the couple for a happy and prosperous life.”
This warm response to the unique wedding invitation has won many accolades over the internet. The couple was themselves elated with this response as they addressed the media about the same. To quote Yuvraj Pokharna’s statement to the media, “I am surprised to know that the PM gives so much importance to a common man like me. I hope that the content of the card would clear people’s doubt about the deal.”
Equally elated was his wife’s response, who further added, “We want to convey to the people that the deal was good for the country. Many women, especially housewives, did not know the technicalities of the deal. Thus, we have put it in a simple way to make them understand.”

George Orwell wasn’t wrong when he said, “In a time of deceit, telling the truth is itself a revolutionary act”. Given how much propaganda and lies the opposition is peddling continuously against PM Modi, it is heartening to see that such people from the common masses have taken the pains, to tell the truth to all on the Rafale deal, no matter how they convey it. By responding warmly to this unique invitation, PM Modi also certifies how much people-oriented he is as the current PM. We hope that he gets reelected with larger numbers than the previous term.
