29th September, 2016 is an iconic day in the history of India and how it dealt with threats posed by terrorists. A country like India which prides itself of not having attacked another country in the past finally gave the assent to its Army to eliminate threats located in Pakistan. Surgical strikes which were conducted by the Indian Army on Pakistani soil, almost 2 years back changed the way Pakistan and other potential enemies saw India. A country which had remained largely silent when innocent civilians were killed in Mumbai back in 2008 by Pakistani terrorists, who entered Mumbai via sea, finally had enough. The trigger for the surgical strikes was provided by the cowardly Pakistani army. On 18th September 2016, India witnessed the deadliest attack in two decades on its army troops in Kashmir. The Uri attack caught the army unaware, shook the nation and jolted the government out of its peace and talks phase. 19 soldiers were killed in the attack and many more were injured. Indian Army backed by the central government under PM Modi did what it does best. The video accessed by Republic TV yesterday, shows the process of identification and elimination for the surgical strikes.
The video accessed by Republic TV is time and date-stamped footage of four targets captured by Unmanned Aerial Vehicles and head mounted cameras. The map with the UAV aerial shot shows the target to be inside Pakistani territory. The coordinates of the terror camp are also prominently displayed in the images, the images prominently display four Pakistani Army men at the terror camp along-with two terrorists in traditional outfits. The camera then captures the ‘surgical strike’ by the Indian Army as it decimates the Pakistani bunker. The footage shows back-to-back shots fired on Pakistani terror bunker by Indian Army special forces to ensure maximum damage. It shows the rocket launchers and anti-bunker missiles hitting the terror camps. Soon after, the footage shows a ball of fire over the terror bunker.
The terror bunker blown to bits by the operations is also shown in the last footage. As many as 38 terrorists were killed and targeted attacks were carried out by the Indian Army on Pakistani soil. This is the first instance of videos of surgical strike being released on national television, the happenings and order of them were authenticated by Lt. General D.S. Hooda.
This video which was shown yesterday on Republic TV will finally shut the mouth of the opposition leaders such as Arvind Kejriwal, who had doubted the army as well as the central government. Their absurdity had drawn widespread criticism from the citizens of India as well. Few days back former Union Minister Arun Shourie called the surgical strikes “farzical” or fake. This comment was made at a book launch of “Kashmir: Glimpses of History” written by Congress leader Saifuddin Soz. People like Shourie will never understand that had the surgical strikes never been carried out we would have faced more aggression from our not so friendly and radical neighbours. Yes, the border skirmishes have not stopped but our civilians in India can live and breathe in peace, all thanks to the Indian Army and the central government.
