Investigation in the Kathua rape case has been a classic case of political witch-hunt and miscarriage of justice. The investigation team which conducted the final investigation process and submitted the charge-sheet is facing serious charges of use of force and verbal threats on the alleged witnesses. Countless discrepancies have emerged in the investigation report and charge-sheet. The interrogation process in the Kathua rape case is still ongoing and more facts and evidences keep coming to the surface every day. One of the prime accused in the case is Sanji Ram’s son, Vishal Jangotra. Vishal lived and studied in Meerut and he had been allegedly called to ‘satisfy his lust’ by the juvenile nephew of Sanji Ram, according to the charge-sheet filed by the Jammu & Kashmir police. The charge-sheet also mentioned that Vishal, along with others, had dumped the body of the 8-year-old victim in the jungles in the evening of 15th of January. A new CCTV footage has come across, first shared by ZEE News that shows Vishal was in Meerut on the 15th of January.
The CCTV footage is from an ATM in Meerpur, Meerut. This ATM has been used by Vishal since his stay in Meerut as he was reliant on money sent from his home for his monthly expenses and educational needs. A simple passbook update has also confirmed that a sum of Rs. 1,000 was indeed withdrawn from the ATM in Meerpur location. The CCTV footage has further shown clearly that Vishal Jangotra was present in the ATM at a little after three in the noon. The ATM card and bank account is of Vishal Jangotra’s sister and was used exclusively by Vishal for his monetary needs. Sanji Ram’s daughter has come on record to accept that the account in her name was used by Vishal as he did not have a PAN card to open an account in his name.
The body of the 8-year-old victim was dumped at 4 PM according to the charge-sheet filed by the irresponsible personnel of the Jammu & Kashmir Police. Vishal Jangotra has been accused of raping and then dumping the body of the victim in the jungles as per the charge-sheet. How is it possible for someone to travel from Meerut to Kathua in less than an hour and do this ghastly deed? If this CCTV footage also shows that Vishal Jangotra had gone to Kathua from Meerut to satisfy his lust, came back to Meerut to withdraw money from the ATM in Meerut and had then travelled back to Meerut to take part in the disposal of the body. Stupid, or is it?
This inconsistency in Kathua case is one amongst the many which have previously emerged. The first one was when the investigating officers managed to get 130 witnesses who agreed to the involvement of Sanji Ram’s family in rape and murder. These 130 witnesses did not bat an eyelid while all these alleged crimes were being committed by the rapists and murderers. The second biggest inconsistency emerged during the interrogation process being conducted by the investigating teams themselves. Sanji Ram, according to the interrogations report, had no prior knowledge of the abduction and rape of the victim. He had pleaded guilty in the interrogation process of plotting to murder the girl in order to save his son. The charge-sheet originally had accused Sanji Ram of being the main plotter of the whole incident. It has left us aghast how the incompetent Jammu & Kashmir police investigating officers had previously framed him in abduction, rape and murder charges.
It makes sense why the people of Kathua were protesting against the investigation team of Jammu and Kashmir, the demand for CBI enquiry also makes sense now. The incompetency of the police personnel combined with the atrocities being committed on the Hindus of Kathua in order to become witnesses is slowly being exposed. There is enough evidence to prove that Vishal Jangotra was not in Kathua when the body was disposed. Sanji Ram also must have been forcibly asked to confess his involvement in the Kathua case. The leftist media which had painted the whole incident in communal colours is nowhere to be found today.
If you believe that the truth of the Kathua rape case must come out and the true criminals deserve punishment, you must in your capacity demand CBI enquiry in the case. The Jammu & Kashmir Police are incompetent and is now building a narrative to suit its own findings. A fair investigation by the CBI will ensure that the victim and her family get justice while the real criminals and not innocents get convicted. The Jammu & Kashmir police and the J&K government can sadly ensure neither of the two.
