Brijesh Kalappa, the Indian National Congress spokesperson today blamed the BJP for allegedly rigging the Electronic Voting Machines (EVM) in Bengaluru, Karnataka. An EVM in a polling booth in RMV II Stage, Bengaluru was allegedly malfunctioning, Brijesh Kalappa with all his knowledge used Twitter to share this piece of information rather than contacting the Election Commission. He did not lose any time in blaming the BJP over this issue as if it was the Bharatiya Janata Party which had supplied the EVMs and not the EC. Brijesh Kalappa who was denied a ticket by the Congress in the Karnataka state elections has become quite vocal in blaming BJP. This happened after his Facebook posts lamenting on the Congress’s decision to not give him a ticket for a record 6th time. His anger against the Congress seems to have disappeared and he is back again trying to woo people into believing that Congress is the savior of Karnataka. Kalappa is trying to convince people of Congress being fair and just when Congress has repetitively failed to give Brijesh Kalappa fair dividends for his uncountable efforts.

Congress leader Ashok Gehlot too voiced his opinions on PM Modi’s visit to the iconic Muktinath Temple in Nepal. Muktinath Temple is a holy sit revered by both Hindus and Buddhists alike in Nepal. PM Modi currently is in Nepal on a two day visit, the busy schedule of PM Modi includes visits to the Janaki Temple, Muktinath Temple and Pashupatinath Temple. PM Modi visited the Janaki Temple in Janakpur where he was received by Nepal Pm KP Oli yesterday, while he began the day today with a visit to the iconic Muktinath Temple in the mountainous Mustang district. Muktinath Temple is of Vaishnav origin and is also considered as one of the 51 Shaktipeeths in Hinduism. There are a great many followers of the Vaishnavite sect in Karnataka and the Muktinath Temple is considered to be one of the eight most-sacred shines by the followers of Vaishanavas. This is probably what led Ashok Gehlot to deduce that PM Modi’s visit today was political in nature. Ashok Gehlot chose not to comment on the other Temple visits by PM Modi in order to build his narrative. While PM Modi’s visit happened today, Ashok Gehlot forgot that it must have been planned days in advance owing to security reasons.
The Congress leaders in the state and on the national level are in a state of panic, the pre-poll surveys have shaken their beliefs. Leaders like Brijesh Kalappa and Ashok Gehlot have decided to attack the BJP over silly issues at the last moment. An article published today on the 5Forty3 magazine ’The Gaze’ has predicted a saffron wave in Karnataka. It has even gone so far as to challenge the decision of Siddaramaiah fighting from the Badami constituency. MAPi- Micro Analytical Projections (INTELLIGENCE) has also predicted that Siddaramaiah’s lead in Badami stands at a mere 1 percentage point. BJP’s probability of winning the majority in Karnataka has greatly enhanced leading to turmoil in the Congress Party’s camp. There might be more news of Congress leaders resorting to shameful deeds today in a bid to save face in Karnataka. Election Day is finally here and we believe that people today should go out and vote without fear or pressure, for it is their vote which will decide the course of Karnataka for the next five years. It is important for them to take into account the mismanagement of the last five years of Congress rule in Karnataka lest they fall in the traps of leaders like Ashok Gehlot and Brijesh Kalappa.
