Meet the Urban Naxals who hijacked the Pune event meant for Dalits

Pune Dalits Naxals

On the 1st of January, A special event called “Shaurya Divas” was organized in Pune, to commemorate the 200-year-old victory (although highly debated) of Dalits over Peshwas. The event was used as a launchpad for violence and vandalism and it soon transformed into a Dalits Vs Brahmins struggle that engulfed the entire state of Maharashtra. As the dust settles now, it becomes clear that naxals were holding the remote control of this event in their hands. The supposed Shaurya Divas of Dalits was hijacked by urban naxals and it could not have happened in a day. Looks like a lot of planning went into it.

This event is organized every year in Bhima-Koregaon and is attended by a few thousand members from among the Dalit Community. But this time planning for this event started almost 8 months back, so that it becomes a congregation of lacs of fervent attendees. The plot was designed in such a way that the Government could be pressurized and the ‘struggle’ could be given a Dalits Vs Brahmins flavor. Urban Naxals have always been the masters of this game.

Top Naxal Faces were seen in the Pune Event meant for Dalits

A cursory glance at the list of people who attended this event makes it clear that this event was an event for Dalits only in the name, in reality it was hijacked by Naxals. Let us take a look at the names:

Umar Khalid: Umar Khalid is quite a famous name now, courtesy his “Bharat tere Tukde honge” show at JNU. Khalid was even booked for sedition and is currently out on bail. Umar Khalid was a vocal supporter of Burhan Wani and Afzal Guru. After JNU episode, Umar Khalid became a role model for Urban Naxals.

Sudhir Dhavle: Sudhir has recently been released from Nagpur Jail where he was serving jail time of 40 months for being involved in naxal activities. He was invited as a guest in the Pune event for Dalits.

Soni Sori: Self-styled Social Reformer and vocal Naxal supporter Soni Sori was also a part of this event. What was the rationale behind inviting this lady to Dalit Shaurya Divas is a point to ponder upon.

Jignesh Mevani: Mevani is the latest darling of Indian Media, because as per them he posed a big threat to PM Modi in his home state. Jignesh Mevani has been trying to establish himself as a top Dalit leader even since the unfortunate Una incident. Mevani is known for his insidious rants and hollow claims. He has also disrespected the Prime Minister on National Television. A day before the Shaurya Divas event, Mevani vented his anger against PM Modi and BJP in another event called Yalgaar Parishad. Mevani played an important role in isolating Dalits from other Hindus in Gujarat. He is friends with Umar Khalid and has every element that constitutes an Urban Naxal.

Prakash Ambedkar: Prakash is the Chairperson of a political outfit called Bharipa Bahujan Mahasangh and has been a vocal supporter of Naxals. Like most leftist leaders, he considers Naxals his friends too. He was one of major forces behind this event in Pune. Prakash’s relative Milind Teltumbade is the secretary of the Maharashtra Rajya State Committee (MRSC) of banned Communist Party of India (Maoist) and is presently at large.

Apart from these luminaries, Ulka Mahajan, Harshali Potedar and the Shiledars of Kabir Kala Manch who have been in jail for 5 years for similar activities were a part of the Pune event too.

These people were the masterminds of the Pune event. This was not exactly a Dalit evet but a laboratory of Urban Naxals who successfully hijacked it. On 31st of December, a General Assembly was organized in Shanivarwada (The Seat of the Peshwas) where Umar Khalid and Jignesh Mewani spewed venom against PM Modi, RSS and Hindus in general. This is the same Umar Khalid who went to Nagpur Central Jail to greet Naxal Professor G Saibaba when the latter was released on bail.

Why do the Urban Naxals hate the Modi Government?

In last 3 Years, Modi Government has not just eliminated Naxals in large numbers but has cut their channels of funding. While Government’s order on foreign funding ban on NGOs was a punch right in their gut, Demonetisation was the knockout blow. This is the reason why Urban Naxals have been restless and have been waiting for an opportune moment to get even with the Government. Most intolerance movements and campaigns like NotInMyName has one more urban naxal directing the whole show.

Fadnavis Government has given probe orders, the masterminds of the Pune Vandalism will soon be exposed

Fadanavis Government has constituted a probe committee, a Supreme Court Judge will be heading the committee. The Committee will find out who the masterminds of the Pune event were and what was their agenda.

This episode proves that Urban Naxals are lurking around in the corners of almost every city, waiting for the right moment to unleash their reign of chaos and unrest. It is our responsibility to identify them and expose their agenda. We need to be more united than ever. Dalits are as Hindu as a Brahmin or any other Hindu is. And we must never ever discriminate on the basis of caste. We can fight the naxals and terrorists, only when we are united as one strong unit. Let us keep that unity intact.
