General Officer Commander In charge of Northern Command, Lt. General Devraj Anbu issued a chilling statement for Pakistan. He said“If Pakistan doesn’t mend its ways, we’ll do another surgical strike”.
“There are a lot of Terrorist Camps and Launch Pads in the Southern and Northern side of Pir Panjal.” He further added. It must be noted that when Army Chief Vipin Rawat was asked if he would go for another Surgical Strike to check Cross border terrorism and incursions, Army Chief didn’t issue any statement.
Devraj Anbu said during a presser that Terrorists try to sneak in on to the Indian side incessantly and Indian Army has been neutralizing their efforts all along the valley and in Jammu. He further added that through Surgical Strike, Indian Army had sent a clear-cut message to Pakistan, that LoC is not a sacred line and Indian Army can, whenever it wishes, cross LoC, attack and exterminate terrorists.
Lt. General Devraj Anbu also commended the NIA for cracking down on terror funding of separatist leaders. He mentioned that because of NIA crackdown, the valley has registered a sharp fall in the incidents of stone pelting.
18th September 2016, was one of the darkest days in last 2 decades in the Indian Army’s history, where the nation lost 17 of its brave Jawans to a fidayeen attack from terrorists (Sponsored by the state of Pakistan) coming in from across the LOC. While all the 4 terrorists were effectively neutralised, the Uri Attack remained burning in the hearts of every patriotic citizen.
India will neither forgive nor forget; Prime Minister Narendra Modi had declared after the Uri outrage. It wasn’t just rhetoric. The decision to chastise Pakistan was conveyed to defence minister Manohar Parrikar and National Security Adviser Ajit Doval on September 23, and the build-up to D-day started the next day.
On the moonless night of September 26, 2016, Indian Armed forces conducted Surgical Strikes after the midnight hour. Indian Army’s elite commando teams slipped through the barriers across the LoC and traveled deep inside the enemy territory. In swift and multi-pronged attacks, snipers with silencers silenced sentries at terror camps. Later the Indian Forces stormed the camps and destroyed them. There were about 50 causaualties on the Pakistani side while the Indian side remained unscathed. And thus Uri was avenged.
