Here is an unmatched secular subterfuge from the dossiers of Teesta Setalvad’s ‘reader’ prepared by the NGO Sabrang, which was meant for teachers of school kids of class V. In this reader on History, She has changed the entire historical events topsy turvey, questioned the very authenticity of plunder of Somnath Temple by Ghaznavi, bigotry of Aurangzeb and Tipu Sulthan.
She has changed the very gospels from the History, dubbed the very plunder and pillage of Mohammad Gazni as a concocted story by Hindu communals who were masquerading as nationalists, as if eminent Historians testimonials recorded by the contemporary writers were all fraud and forgery, as if the whole voyage of Islam all over the world was carried by spreading peace and harmony, but no plunder and pillage of non-Islamic faiths ever took place.
The troubling questions are now;
What authority and academic qualifications did she possess, to audaciously re-write the historical facts to cause distortions in a reader that was meant for the teachers of class V? How the then UPA Government encouraged such a communal NGO, with doles of crores of financial support from the tax payers money?
Yesterday Rahul Shivshankar of Times Now in his maiden program ‘ IndiaUpfront’ has revealed some shocking excerpts from the 3 member committee report
that was appointed by the HRD Ministry ( by the then HRD Minister Smt Smriti Irani ) to look in to the blatant communal agenda of ‘Sabrang’ the NGO of Teesta Setalvad and other issue of disbursal and utilisation of funds of Rs 1. 39 crores out of total sanction of Rs 2.06 crores sanctioned by the HRD Ministry under the UPA Government, to Setalvad for her project ‘Khoj’ under the scheme of ‘National Policy on Education’.
The news channel claimed to have in possession, some excerpts from the report which was read out to the shock of the nation. The appointed panel had submitted the report in October last year itself, heavily indicting the NGO Sabrang and its controversial head Teesta Setalvad. However what was not revealed by then, was revealed by the channel yesterday, i.e a portion of the report that was considered as sensitive.
The channel displayed the following 3 excerpts from the ‘reader’ prepared by Teesta Setalvad meant for Teachers of Don Bosco School, Mathunga, Mumbai.
Excerpt 1 : ‘most of all did the rulers of only one denomination (for example in our case Muslims ) have these aggressor invader motives ? what about Hindu rulers or Budhhist ones in other context ?”This tendency of demonize only one section and not all , is not simply a distortion of History but is dangerous’
Excerpt 2: ‘Independent research has shown that construction of the whole narrative of ‘Hindu trauma around the raid on Somnath Temple by Mahmud Gaznavi (1026AD) is a phenomenon , created by since 1843 by the British, and thereafter picked up as useful construct by HINDU COMMUNALISTS (called Nationalists) and was not in fact a lived trauma ‘
Excerpt 3 : ‘Who are the victims of a biased History ?As we have seen before, sectarian ends have also been served’ by valorising some figures and demonising some others , Aurangzeb, Tipu Sultan, Mehmud Gaznivi , have been demonised and other figures have been valorised.
The above inflammatory distorted versions of Historical facts were incorporated in the ‘reader’ meant for the teachers of class V and VI in Don Bosco school in Mathunga, MUMBAI by the NGO Sabrang which prepared the reader.
The three-member committee comprising Supreme Court lawyer Abhijit Bhattacharjee, Gujarat Central University Vice Chanc llor S A Bari and a Ministry official Gaya Prasad set up by the Ministry examined the allegations levelled by Setalvad’s former close aide Rais Khan Pathan.
When the findings were sent to Solictor General for his opinion on persecution of Teesta Setalvad, the Solicitor General, Ranjit Kumar has approved the findings and held activist Teesta Setalvad of Sabrang Trust culpable for “hatred-filled, disharmony-spreading, ill-will generating, enmity-creating explosive writings”, and said the HRD Ministry can file an FIR against her under Sections 153A and 153B of the IP
Hypocrisy thy name is ‘Secularism’
According to Teesta Setalvad the sectarian rulers like Aurangzeb, Tipu Sultan, and plunderer like Mehmud Gaznavi are in fact emboldened souls of messengers of peace and harmony who were distorted beyond justification in later years by Hindu fanatics. On the other hand the same author believes the version from the same Britishers on Akbar’s religious harmony, Aurangzeb’s charity, but Shivaji’s animosity. Irony !
It is only this kind of distortion of historical facts that may hurt the liberal Hindus of the present age more than the true historical un adulterated facts, as a pious and liberal Hindu will take no offense in the facts of Gaznavi’s plunders, so let the fact be fact.
