Pakistan Pathankot Invite: Secular Parties’ chest beating is understandable but here’s what Modi is thinking

What lies inside the Pakistan Pathankot trap?

The best way to know one’s enemy is to keep the enemy in one’s sight. If the enemy is hidden, you should be prepared for the worst. This is a rule which every battle strategist would like to maintain with. And this is the strategy which the man of the moment PM Narendra Modi seems to be following.

The Pakistan Pathankot invite that is the visit of the Pakistani team investigating into the terror attack of Pathankot into the very premises where the attack occurred for the purpose of investigation has raised and ruffled many feathers. This is the 1st time that a Pakistani Investigating team consisting of the Country’s top Investigating Professionals are visiting any Indian Defense establishment. Understandably, this has raised eyebrows and many associated questions. How can a Pak Investigating Team allowed into an Indian Defense Establishment? How come? They are our enemies. They will get all knowledge of our establishment in the garb of investigating.

Let us for a moment cut back to previous instances of Terror attacks executed by Pak based Terror groups. The sequence of events were as follows:

  • Terror attack
  • Blind initial Blame game based on unknown facts, and some obvious facts like ‘who else but them’.
  • Hasty Investigation
  • Even hastier conclusion to escape the political heat of local Intelligence failure.
  • Commencement of Finger Pointing based on hasty conclusion.
  • Finally, rebuttal from Pakistan with a comical twist saying, ‘even if there is a tsunami in India, they will blame us’.

Pakistan Pathankot Invite: What was actually happening also on the side lines, which is now coming to light of late?

  • Terror attack
  • Blind Initial Blame Game as usual.
  • Hasty Investigation.
  • Then surprise! Surprise! Surprise! Claiming that Hindu terrorists are also involved in some of the attacks.
  • A message being sent to the world that, out of 10 Terror attacks, Pak based terrorists responsible for 6. Home based Muslim terror responsible for 2, and balance 2 due to home based Hindu terror.
  • A message to the Indian Hindu electorate that, RSS/BJP stand for Hindu terror and support Hindu terror.
  • Thereby giving Pak a stick to beat India with whenever the heat rises on them.
  • Whether for reasons of covert or overt only the Secular Congress and Media can confirm.

Pakistan Pathankot Invite: Still more, what also was being conveyed to the International Media and covertly to Pakistan in certain cases was:

  • Innocent Muslims were being targeted in BJP ruled states in the garb of avoiding potential terror attacks. Like in the case of Ishrat Jahan and company.

As a result of this convoluting twisted logic displayed by the government of the day and backed by the Media, and mis-information, Pakistan, State and Non-State actors got away with open murder, each time a major act was executed on Indian soil.

Each time a major act of terror was executed the Media opened up like a lotus in full bloom. Instead of just concentrating on the existing act of terror during their various interviews and talk shows, a subtle inference was always given to examples of Hindu acts of terror, bringing all the participants at par. In fact, the invited Pakistani guests on the TV Shows used to openly refer to Hindu acts of terror in response to queries of Pakistan hand in these acts.

In short, the narrative on the Indian side after a major act was executed, was from the confused to the illogical. Result being, Pakistan going scot free with a new plan to execute a fresh and new act. This, in spite, our Intelligence Agencies putting in their best efforts to foil attacks and to conclude the reasons for the attacks. Facts were being suppressed, altered & twisted. Affidavits being changed and altered. Intelligence experts being tortured to alter testimonies. This was the scenario prior and after each and every Major Terror attack on Indian soil. All this for political power.

It is and has been my firm belief that, the introduction of the theory of Non-Existent Hindu Terror has emboldened Pak and Pak based terror groups even more. So much that, they have executed act after act with alarming frequency and regularity in India. My firm belief is that, those people who have invented and fed this theory into the Terror related investigative narrative of the country should be tried for treason. And that too, without any further delay. Whether, Politicians, Media or Intellectuals.

With the Pakistan Pathankot invite, this time Narendra Modi had scripted a new plot. It was not that he did not expect something from the Pak side, State or Non-State during his tenure. In fact, he must have been surprised that it came so late. Almost 2 years after he came to power. He tried his level best to make Pak his equal partner, inferring that only peace can bring prosperity to both nations. And Pak needs peace more than India to prosper. But, the message was lost on the several parallel Pak institutions of power. A fact which they were prepared for.

By putting his personal life (by indulging in a helicopter trip along with Pak PM Nawaz) at stake, along with a host of overtures he forced the Pak establishment into a huge confusion. Not to forget the huge confusion which he threw the country’s (India’s) secular Political and Media spectrum into? To the world now, PM Modi was the initiator of peace. Contrary to what his country’s own Secular Political Class & Media were claiming since 15 -17 years. All along, Modi perfectly knew that it is highly impossible for Pakistan to turn itself white even if it is gifted with a white paint to paint itself with. It was akin to a gamble with a crocodile. No chance of losing at all. And, if the crocodile tries to snap at your hand during the game (which Pak is always likely to do while having dinner at your house), hack it with a hatchet, claiming, I gave it a chance to win legally, it did not take it.

The Pakistan Pathankot Invite means allowing a Pak Investigating Team to Pathankot, but PM Modi very well knows that unless the visiting team have 10 sets of eyes on their heads or any other unseen place on their bodies, they cannot even know the make of the chairs they are going to sit on. Specially, surrounded by Indian Security and Intelligence experts covering them from all sides like maggots covering up an infection. But, on paper, with this invite what PM Modi has achieved is that, he has conveyed to the whole world how far he can go to achieve peace. Having dealt with Pakistanis all my life (well almost all) myself, I can imagine them huddled up in Pindi trying to fathom what is Modi’s next move after the invite, which (the invite) in any case must have sent them into a spin.

Right now the man himself is having the confused Pak establishment for a 3 course Vegetarian meal, along with the Indian Secular Spectrum for Salads and Dressings. Now, the entire world will be watching eagerly what the Pak team and establishment will throw up as a result of their investigation. Specially, since it was there request for a visit to the Pathankot attack site as a part of their Investigations.

I guess they are left with little or no choice.

  • If they say ‘no’ evidence is found linking Pak or Pak based terror groups to the attack, the world will sit and await the Man’s reaction. Which could be anyone’s guess, what and how it will be. And, if the reaction will be something negative for Pak, no one (including China) shedding a tear for them.
  • If they say ‘yes’, they will be digging their own deep grave.

Understandably, this situation is not to the liking of the Secular Class of the country. Hence, the hue and cry. Because, it completely jeopardizes the carefully developed relationship between them and the Pak State & Non-State actors with the aim of keeping the ‘Communal’ BJP/RSS away from Political Power. Also in the aftermath of Pakistan Pathankot invite, Modi has asked Pakistan to allow NIA officials to probe into the case in Pakistan. He has also Pakistan to provide voice samples of Maulana Masood Azhar. How about that?
