New Year Advice for the PM, CMs and People of India

New Year Advice for Narendra Modi & His Cabinet:

Leave the party affairs to Amit Shah and try to concentrate on governance. Though came to power in the name of good governance, so far apart from adapting Aadhar card and trying to inspire people voluntarily give up subsidies, not many policy changes have not taken place. Remember, GST is not the only thing on which India can progress. Everybody knows Congress will fight tooth and nail to oppose him. What else any ruling Government expect? Tit for Tat. So, forget the constitutional amendments and get the Government functioning. So far, only in foreign affairs, some movement could be seen. Remember that Pakistan and Nepal are two different countries and should be treated so. Don’t let the newspapers dictate foreign policy, especially for countries other than Pakistan. Though inflation was contained in 2014, 2015 had seen first onion crisis during which, onions were imported from Pakistan – when talks were suspended and prices of pulses have skyrocketed. Even the benefits of low oil prices were not fully passed onto customers.

More revenue was generated by Modi and his team – what was missing was the proper utilization. Vajpayee Government had not done any big bang reforms, but Vajpayee and Khanduri would be remembered at least for one century for the way they paved roads, after Sher Shah Suri. Any Prime Minister would favour his home state. But, not the way Modi had chosen – the Bullet Train between Mumbai and Ahmedabad! The disparity in growth of all sections of society would have long lasting ramifications. Though practically there is less cash out flow for the bullet train project, it had grabbed all the limelight leaving all modernisation project of Railways in the dark.

Modi shall remember that all roads paved by Khanduri could not bring Vajpayee to power. Same with Suresh Prabhu, who is one of the magnificent ministers Modi has. Though Piyush Goel had done a commendable job, most of the credit goes to the court that had changed the policy in the wake of coal scam rendering him to get credit only for implementation. Nirmala Sitaraman had a wonderful start last year, but somewhere in the long journey that was often influenced by the diplomacy had lost steam. Only Sushma Swaraj could end the year in success that had peaked when Modi surprised Pakistanis few days back, with a visit to Lahore.

Manohar Parikkar’s case is almost like Nirmala Sitaraman, though a shade better. So far, there is no clarity on what would be made in India and what would be imported. Most important thing for him is putting the scientific community to good use, in the current scenario of reduced load. Would there be a public-private partnership between the DRDO and its associates with private players? It seems this point was not considered with the seriousness it deserved.

The time taken for the smart cities projects is really too much, given the past record of Nitin Gadkari. If it takes two years to decide the list of cities, what he can do in the next three years? Same case with Uma Bharathi’s Ganga Prakshalan!

Probably Modi had done a mistake in not considering Subramanian Swamy for the commerce portfolio, but it would be too much load for the fighter, who was more useful to the Government without any portfolio.

New Year Advice for Amit Shah:

Amit Shah shall read Ramayana, the original version. Ram had no qualms to learn Rajneeti/Rajdharma from the dying Ravana (Frankly, aren’t we supposed to call the rule by Rama as Ravana Rajya). Though Amit Shah is not Ram and neither Sonia, the Ravan, he shall learn ‘WHAT NOT TO DO’ from the Congress.
The adaptation of ‘high command’ culture had really hit the only party that had internal democracy – the BJP. In no other party, Narendra Modi could expect to become the Prime Minister candidate, wholly on his own strength that was supported by masses. And, Amit Shah is damaging the very system that had propelled them to the top. May be he doesn’t want another Modi to rise, but the damage to BJP, especially the loss in Bihar had cost many a Rajya Sabha seats to pass constitutional amendments at least in the fag end of their power journey.

For all his ironising the local outfits, Amit Shah had miserably failed in zipping the motor mouths in the party. If Mohan Bhagwat speaks something, one can understand, but Sakshi Majaraj and some Sadhvis? The party that competed with the Communists in the area of discipline, had become a laughing stock. And for all the Indian values, he better informs Advani & other oldies before they read anything in newspapers. What’s the point of welcoming their utterances on all sorts of nonsensical issues? Keep them happy and help them pee out of the tent, not inside.

It might do good to Amit Shah, if he remembers he should run the party to augment the efforts of the Government. The best lesson is only strong leaders at state level can win state elections, when the assembly elections are not held along with the general ones.

New Year Advice for Sonia Gandhi:

First and foremost, get really good lawyers to defend in the National Herald case. Don’t depend on Kapil Sibal, who was fascinated with zero, he delivers the same. And don’t count on ManuSinghvi either; nobody knows whether he’ll turn up in the court or not.

By now, she must have understood that it is next to impossible to make a common man out of Rahul, forget a leader. Better involve Priyanka Gandhi, who had an intelligent husband -cum- advisor in the form of Robert Vadra. Like Sonia Gandhi, he had planned how his career and life should be and married accordingly.

Congress, rather than wasting energy in the Parliament that they don’t allow to function, better concentrate on winning state elections. In the long run, this helps – even if to prevent the Government from functioning.

New Year Advice for Rahul Gandhi:

No Plans – Time Waste.

New Year Advice for Nitish Kumar:

Try to come out of the shadow of Laloo. People of Bihar deserve a better Government, though they committed a mistake in voting for a coalition that has Laloo Prasad Yadav. Please prove them that their decision was a correct one, by providing good Governance. If you want to become the Prime Minister, please select one reliable dummy before shifting base to Delhi. Take advise from Sonia Gandhi, who selected MMS and ran two terms of UPA successfully.

New Year Advice for Mamta Banerjee:

Running a Government is a bit different than being in opposition. Remember the days of Indrajit Gupta as a failed Home Minister, after being in opposition for decades? Don’t repeat his tenure and try to give the people of Bengal to come out of the Communist shadow. Don’t oppose the central government for the sake of opposing. Learn from DMK and AIADMK, that were always on the side of the party that run the central government. And don’t count on people like – you know whom I was referring to.

New Year Advice for Jaya Lalitha:

Health is Wealth. Though she had enough of wealth, of late her health was not really good. Though she had no problems in identifying a dummy CM, that person is not a leader, to lead a state like Tamilnadu, which is growing even towards the sea. She better realise she shall let the democracy in the party and let one leader emerge on his own, and support him. Else, the goodwill she got in the first two years of her current tenure will go down the drain. And Stalin was eagerly waiting to become CM, officially – not an acting one like earlier.

New Year Advice for Chandrababu Naidu:

Apart from Narendra Modi, he is the only one who had a once in a lifetime chance to etch his name in the history – by developing the nascent state of Andhra Pradesh. While all are worrying about the land acquisition, he could acquire more than thirty thousand acres for the new capital in less than a year – a great feat for Government in these days, when even private players are failing. But, as he already rubbed half the state population the wrong way, by his selection of capital (If he selects some other place, the remaining half would be angry), he need to take everyone on board and try to develop all the perks that were declared and distributed amongst all districts.

Meanwhile stop promoting your son. Never an administrator’s son became equally efficient. Let him lead a normal life and enjoy it. See the example of Rajasekhara Reddy and his son Jaganmohan Reddy. No need t go beyond borders of the state.

New Year Advice for Devendra Fadnavis:

Immediate attention is needed on the water scarcity that would emerge in the next four months. As the cycle of monsoons is delayed by a month, from April onwards, the interior of Maharashtra would be waterless. Better prepare from now itself. Apart from looking for short terms, he shall have long term plans. Get hold the old maps of water bodies and reclaim the land that was usurped. Take the word of old Maratha kings who constructed large ponds. Get the existing ponds silted and let the rain water penetrate the land. Else, next agriculture season for Marathwada would be really bad, unless there is a sustained rain during monsoons.

New Year Advice for Akhilesh Yadav:

It is time to come out of his father’s shadow. In fact, he got an image that UP is run by three chief ministers – himself, Azam Khan and Shivpal Yadav. Power comes through the barrel fo gun – thus said Mao. If he can’t grab power from his father, who still sticks to the old formulae, he will become another Chandrababu Naidu, who once lost the power had to wait till his rival was no more and could only become CM to half of the original state.

New Year Advice for Arvind Kejriwal:

Actually, on him, nor an article, but a book should be written. The maverick he was, he could be called current days Kautilya. The rant that started with CBI raids on one Rajendra Kumar had ended in a probe on Arun Jaitley. But, the world had seen even better ones.

Leaving his skill of manipulating public opinion aside, he better realise he is chief minister to a state that is not really a state, after all. He is an elected leader to something that is bigger than a municipality, but smaller than a state. Even before he contested elections, he knew this. Why cry for everything on the central government? If he can’t control the a

dministration, he can cry loud, but in vain. He may score brownie points with his voters, but at the end, he is failing them.

Already the golden aura of NO-corruption had disappeared from above his head due to his silence on all corruption related matters. Still, despite the hypocrite he is, I want him to win, i.e., to provide a better government to the people of Delhi, for his failure may be seen in entire India – ‘Even the educated are the same’ and will encourage the illiterate gangs to grab power in the interiors and common men suffer in those remote areas, where no TV crew go for interviews and report on 24×7 basis.

New Year Advice for People of India:

People of India shall remember that in a democratic set-up, good leaders will come only if there are good people. If we confine ‘Satyameva Jayate’ to currency notes and run after these very notes, you will get only those rulers who also would run after money. From following traffic rules to administering Polio vaccines, it is not the job of government to remind us. And this list is long, really long. So, better grow up and behave.
