His forefathers were descendants of Assamese origin and that relation encouraged him to acquire a deep knowledge of Assam politics. However, Ajit spent a long period in Assam during his research on Himanta Biswa Sarma.

Ajit Datta Twitter

Ajit Datta has been followed by over 63k people and follows 1115 people. His twitter bio is “Author (Rupa 2021) and political commentator. Part of the @frustIndian and @pondylitfest families.” His official account can be reached at @ajitdatta on twitter.

The book that helped Ajit Datta rise to prominence

Ajit Datta being a right-wing journalist had an immense interest in politics and the dynamic character of Assam CM caught the attention that inspired him to write a comprehensive biography of him. The situation became a win-win because of his understanding of the Assamese language.

In his book, Ajit Datta made an effort to compare NEDA chief and Mass Leader of Northeast Himanta Biswa with many national leaders of Indian politics like that of Late Arun Jaitley, Nitin Gadkari and particularly with Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath. The comparison with Jaitley is based on his political harmonies and media management, with Nitin Gadkari, he compares the personality of being an efficient administrator and lastly his book focused on the civilizational aspect that matches him to Yogi Adityanath.

The book is named Himanta Biswa Sarma: From Boy Wonder to CM and it is asserted as the most comprehensive biography of the Assam Chief Minister. Ajit mainly focuses on Assam CM’s abilities to cope with change and explains how he maintained the same pace in politics despite being a former politician of Congress party for decades even after joining BJP.

If we try to seek out a politician who became a centre point in the mainstream politics and media space, Himanta Biswa’s rise is a real subject that should be researched as a political case study and Ajit’s approach to this is really a milestone from which such extraordinary and unique achievement in Indian politics can be understood.

However, his book is not able to criticize him on some junctures which could have been more dynamic and fruitful to Indian readers, political thinkers and the general public. Ajit did not refer to Himanta’s failures as a health minister to build research institutes in Ayurvedic medicines and most importantly his future plans to fight illegal Bangladeshi immigration as a CM of Assam are not clearly mentioned.

Despite that Ajit’s study on Himanta Biswa Sarma and his book will definitely help a dynamic leader in Indian politics to become a mainstream subject of debates in the media space and political discourses. The chapter is not over and there is still time that we will hear from Ajit on such issues where he might be interested in bringing out broader perspectives on his next projects.

How you can trust Himanta’s Biography on unbiased ground

In politics, it is apparent that anyone involved in politics or political analysis has an inclination towards a party or more and no analysis can be considered unbiased. As Ajit Datta is a young boy, Himanta’s political experience can inspire and motivate him to write biased as well as exaggerated facts. But in this case, Ajit remained largely unbiased and tried to seek out a comparative study of Himanta Biswa with Indian political leaders, which placed Ajit’s book more reliable and meaningful.

Again Ajit Datta did not just converse with Himanta and his family but also reviewed other sources where he talked with many Assamese people as well as examined many books on Assam politics. He understands the Assamese language which is also a vital aspect of this criticism as languages play a big role in research.
