India will celebrate its 79th Independence Day tomorrow, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi leading the nation from the historic Red Fort in Delhi. The Prime Minister will unfurl the National Flag and deliver his address, marking the occasion under the theme ‘Naya Bharat’, reflecting India’s vision of a prosperous, secure, and bold nation on the path to realizing a developed Bharat by 2047.
On his arrival at the Red Fort, PM Modi will be received by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Minister of State for Defence Sanjay Seth, and Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh. The Defence Secretary will introduce the General Officer Commanding (GoC), Delhi Area, Lieutenant General Bhavnish Kumar, who will escort the Prime Minister to the Saluting Base for a Guard of Honour.
The Guard of Honour will comprise 96 personnel from the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Delhi Police, with Wing Commander AS Sekhon leading the contingent. The Army, Naval, Air Force, and Delhi Police units will be commanded respectively by Major Arjun Singh, Lieutenant Commander Komaldeep Singh, Squadron Leader Rajan Arora, and Additional DCP Rohit Rajbir Singh.
Following the inspection, PM Modi will proceed to the ramparts of the Red Fort, where he will be greeted by top defence officials including the Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan, Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi, Navy Chief Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi, and Air Force Chief Air Chief Marshal AP Singh. Flying Officer Rashika Sharma will assist the Prime Minister in hoisting the National Flag, timed with a 21-Gun Salute by the 1721 Field Battery (Ceremonial), led by Major Pawan Singh Shekhawat.
A combined Inter-Services and Delhi Police National Flag Guard of 128 personnel will present the Rashtriya Salute, with the Air Force band, including 11 Agniveer Vayu musicians, playing the National Anthem under Junior Warrant Officer M Deka. Following the flag hoisting, two IAF Mi-17 helicopters will shower flower petals at the venue, with one displaying the national flag and the other showcasing the Operation Sindoor logo. The celebrations will prominently highlight the success of Operation Sindoor and feature floral decorations, invitation cards, and a watermark of the Chenab Bridge symbolizing the rise of Naya Bharat.
The Prime Minister’s address will be followed by a performance by 2,500 cadets from the National Cadet Corps (NCC) and ‘My Bharat’ volunteers, who will form the ‘Naya Bharat’ logo on Gyanpath. Approximately 5,000 special guests, including over 1,500 representatives from various states dressed in traditional attire, will witness the ceremony.
In addition, a nationwide series of band performances will be held on the evening of Independence Day, featuring the Army, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, NCC, CRPF, ITBP, CISF, SSB, BSF, IDS, RPF, and Assam Rifles at more than 140 prominent locations across India.

Gold medalists of Khelo India Para Games
Best performing farmers under various central schemes
Top-performing Sarpanches from social and environmental initiatives
Successful youth under PM-VIKAS, PM YUVA, and other skill/entrepreneurship programs
Notable self-help groups, entrepreneurs, interns, and volunteers
Beneficiaries of PM Awaas Yojana Gramin, Lakhpati Didi, Swachhta Campaign, and Mission Shakti
Tribal children from native communities of Andaman & Nicobar Islands
The grand celebrations aim to inspire patriotic fervor and showcase India’s strides towards a modern, self-reliant, and inclusive Naya Bharat.
