In the wake of increased tensions between India and Pakistan after the recent Islamist attack by Pakistan-backed terrorists in Pahalgam, the state of panic continues to prevail in Pakistan and PoK — Indian territory which the Islamic nation continues to occupy illegally. In a glaring display of panic and fright, the PoK authorities have asked residents near the Line of Control (LoC) to stock food and essentials. The trigger? The imminent fear of an Indian military action aimed at wiping out terror launch pads in the region.
Addressing the local assembly, Anwar ul Haq, the so-called Prime Minister of PoK, announced that people in 13 constituencies on the LoC have been asked to prepare for any escalation by stocking two months’ food and medicines.
Despite being an economically strained region, the so-called PoK admin has allocated one billion Pakistani rupees (around $3.5 million) as an emergency fund to provide a steady stream of basic items like food, medicine, and other vital supplies.
The move, according to reports in the media, is an indication of rising concern in the region about potential Indian military reprisal for the Pahalgam terror attack that claimed the lives of 26 predominantly Hindu tourists.

In a related development, the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) suspended flights from and to Gilgit, Skardu, and other areas in PoK due to security concerns. Flights from the capital cities of Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad to these north-bound destinations were suspended, which indicates growing fears in the region. Pakistani Army has also vacated the posts near LoC. According to the sources, they have even removed the flags & a large no of Pakistani Military officers & soldiers have resigned.
