The fourth edition of Tiger Triumph, a large bilateral India-US Tri-Service exercise that emphasizes Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR), will be conducted on India’s Eastern Seaboard from April 1 to 13, 2025. The exercise is intended to bolster military interoperability between the two countries and optimize disaster response operations during crisis.

The exercise will consist of a Harbour Phase in Visakhapatnam from April 1 to 7, during which the participants will take part in training, subject matter expert exchanges, sporting events, and social interactions. The event will start with an opening ceremony on board the Indian Navy’s INS Jalashwa, which will be followed by a joint flag parade and media interaction. The Sea Phase will follow on from off Kakinada with focus on naval, amphibious and HADR operations, including establishing a Combined Coordination Centre (CCC) to facilitate seamless coordination between the Indian and US Joint Task Forces.
India’s delegation will include Indian Navy’s INS Jalashwa, INS Gharial, INS Mumbai, and INS Shakti, P-8I maritime patrol aircraft, C-130J transport aircraft, MI-17 helicopters, and 91 Infantry Brigade, 12 Mechanised Infantry Battalion, and Indian Air Force’s Rapid Action Medical Team (RAMT) troops. The US will donate the amphibious ship USS Comstock, guided-missile destroyer USS Ralph Johnson, and Marines from US Pacific Forces, demonstrating their commitment to regional stability and humanitarian assistance initiatives.
A notable feature of the exercise Tiger Triumph is the establishment of a joint command and control centre by the Indian Army and US Marines at the Kakinada Naval Enclave. Also, a joint medical camp, comprising the IAF RAMT and the US Navy medical contingent, will extend vital assistance during the operation.
This joint effort highlights the strengthening defense relations between India and the US, reflecting their determination to improve disaster response preparedness and regional security.
