The family of Disha Salian, former manager of late Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput (SSR), has moved the Bombay High Court, seeking a fresh probe into the mysterious circumstances surrounding her death in June 2020.
According to news agency PTI, Disha’s father, Satish Salian, has requested the registration of an FIR against Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aaditya Thackeray and the transfer of the investigation to the CBI.
As per the family’s petition, Disha Salian was brutally raped and murdered, and that a politically driven cover-up was orchestrated to shield influential figures. Satish Salian’s lawyer, Nilesh Ojha, stated that the petition is in the process of being filed and will be officially numbered in the HC registry department.
According to the petition, the Mumbai Police hastily closed the case by ruling it as a suicide or accidental death. It argues that the police failed to consider forensic evidence, circumstantial proof, and eyewitness accounts, raising suspicions of a deliberate attempt to suppress the truth.
In response to Satish Salian’s plea, Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Kishori Pednekar questioned the timing of the renewed demand for an investigation.
She suspected a conspiracy, stating, “Someone is behind this. How has this matter come under the spotlight after four years? The CID has already conducted an enquiry, and there is an SIT investigating the case.”

While SSR’s death was also declared suicide, growing public suspicion led to the CBI taking over the case.

The sudden loss of a talented actor—someone with a positive outlook on life who inspired young scientific minds to embrace the present moment and pursue scientific temper, and who had ambitious plans like collaborating with NITI Aayog—shocked the nation.
As his death, still shrouded in mystery, unfolded, a large section of society linked it to other unexplained deaths in Bollywood, alleging a larger conspiracy and even foul play. Various allegations emerged at the time, with Aditya Thackeray becoming embroiled in one of the most prominent controversies. According to SSR fans, the deaths of Sushant and his former manager could be linked and the reason behind Disha’s death will unravel the motive behind the “murder” of Sushant Singh Rajput.
