Moradabad Dalit girl gang rape case: A heinous case of gangrape of a minor Dalit girl has come to light from Moradabad district of Uttar Pradesh. So far the police have arrested the main accused Salman while other three accused namely Zubair, Rashid and Arif are currently absconding. As per reports, the minor victim hails from the Scheduled Caste community. She was kidnapped 2 months ago. During the time of her captivity, she was forced to eat beef (cow meat).
On Monday (3rd March 2025), the police registered a case and arrested the main accused Salman. The case pertains to Bhagatpur police station area of Moradabad district. On March 3, the minor victim’s aunt filed a complaint with the Police.
In the complaint, she stated that her 14-year-old niece was kidnapped on 2nd January this year when she was going to the market to get a suit stitched. When she was in the market area, the accused namely Salman, Zubair, Rashid and Arif arrived there and they forcibly dragged the victim into the car. It is alleged that they used a chemical which they applied on her face to make her unconscious.
When the victim regained senses, she found herself locked in a room where Salman and his accomplices raped the minor multiple times. Whenever the victim was hungry, she was given beef to eat. As per the complaint, the accused erased an ‘Om’ tattoo inscribed on the victim’s hand using acid. They also threatened her saying that if she raised an alarm, they would pour acid on her face too. Her repeated pleas to let her go had no effect on the accused.
The torturous cycle continued for 2 months after which Salman dumped the victim in Bhojpur police station area of Moradabad. While leaving, he threatened the minor victim, warning her that if she narrated her ordeal to anyone, they will kidnap and kill her family members.
It is alleged that in the final threatening interaction, Salman said, “I get a huge amount of money for this Islamic Jihad. You are just a small girl. I have converted so many girls like you to Islam. By doing this, we attain heaven.”

At the end of her complaint, the victim’s aunt demanded strict action against the accused. TFI has accessed the complaint copy. Based on her complaint, the police have registered a case under sections 137 (2), 70 (1), 123, 127 (4), 299, 351 (3) and 124 (1) of the Indian Penal Code (BNS) along with SC/ST and POCSO Act.
According to Moradabad Police, the main accused Salman has been arrested. Investigation and other necessary legal action is going on in the case.
According to the information gathered by TFI, the victim belongs to a very poor family. Her parents have passed away. The minor victim has a younger brother and both of them are supported by their uncle and aunt. Earlier, her uncle was also attacked by unknown miscreants in which he suffered serious injuries. As a result, he is often bedridden. Her aunt is responsible for the house and family.
Incidentally, Hindu organisations have also raised questions on the working style of the police in this Moradabad Dalit girl gang rape case.
