The terrorists were first seen by a local couple who were strolling in the fields. They saw armed individuals and promptly reported to security officials, prompting the immediate deployment of the counterterror operation. During the continuous exchange of fire, a seven-year-old girl, Anchal, was injured. She was evacuated immediately to Government Medical College (GMC) Kathua for treatment. Authorities at the hospital have assured that her condition is stable.
