In yet another display of political desperation, the Congress party has attempted to drag Prime Minister Narendra Modi into an old conspiracy theory regarding the murder of former Gujarat home minister Haren Pandya. Their latest attack comes after PM Modi penned a letter to Indian-origin NASA astronaut Sunita Williams, inviting her to visit India upon her return to Earth. Instead of recognizing this as a moment of national pride, Congress took the opportunity to reignite baseless allegations, linking Narendra Modi to a decades-old case that has already been legally scrutinized.
The Congress’ Kerala unit went so far as to claim on social media that Sunita Williams would “throw Modi’s letter in the trash”, simply because she happens to be a relative of Haren Pandya. This absurd statement not only disrespects the post of Indian Prime Minister but also highlights how Congress is still stuck in its web of conspiracy theories, unable to offer any meaningful political discourse.

If Narendra Modi Was Responsible, Why Was Pandya’s Wife Given a Key Position?
The most glaring hole in Congress’ conspiracy theory is the fact that Jagruti Pandya, the wife of Haren Pandya, was appointed as chairperson of the Gujarat State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (SCPCR) by the BJP government in 2016. If then Chief Minister of Gujarat Narendra Modi had any role in Haren Pandya’s murder, as Congress falsely alleges, why would his government honor Haren Pandya’s widow with a key position? This fact alone exposes the hollowness of Congress’ claims. Furthermore, Jagruti Pandya herself never accused the Indian Prime Minister or the BJP of being involved in her husband’s murder. This completely dismantles the fabricated narrative pushed by Congress and its ecosystem for years.
Congress has a history of playing politics over dead bodies, and Haren Pandya’s case is no different. Instead of acknowledging the findings of the CBI and Gujarat High Court, which acquitted all 12 accused, Congress keeps pushing its baseless “Modi conspiracy” theory to mislead the public.
Ironically, it was the Modi government that appealed to the Supreme Court after the acquittals, showing that it was committed to justice. This raises a critical question: If Congress truly cared about Haren Pandya’s murder, why didn’t they pursue justice aggressively when they were in power at the Centre? Their hypocrisy is evident, as they only bring up Pandya’s name when it suits their political agenda.
Despite these pathetic attempts to malign Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister remains unshaken and focused on his vision for India. His invitation to Sunita Williams is a reflection of his commitment to recognizing Indian-origin achievers on the global stage, something that Congress has failed to do.
Congress’ attempt to resurrect old conspiracy theories only exposes its lack of a constructive political strategy. Instead of focusing on real issues, they continue to peddle lies and misinformation, hoping to stay relevant. However, as history has shown, such desperate tactics will only backfire, leaving Congress with nothing but more electoral defeats.
