Former District President of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Mahmood Khan, has been arrested in Uttar Pradesh for trapping a Hindu girl in Love Jihad and forcing her to convert to Islam. According to the complainant, Mahmood Khan befriended the Hindu victim, by using a false identity of a Hindu man named Sonu.
After this, he raped her and recorded a video while committing the heinous act. Through the obscene video of her ordeal, he kept blackmailing her and was also forcing her to convert to Islam.

The current incident of Love Jihad pertains to Sultanpur in Uttar Pradesh. The victim is a resident of the Jaisinghpur Kotwali police station area of the city. The victim has said in her complaint that about 15 months ago she became friends with a young man named Mahmood Khan. However, he had used a false Hindu identity to befriend her as he had introduced himself as Sonu.
After developing friendship, they started communicating. In August 2024, the victim visited the Collectorate to meet Mahmood Khan. Thereafter, he took her to a room in the city. There he raped her and also made a video of the victim.
According to the victim, the accused AAP leader Mahmood Khan used the video of her ordeal to pressurise her for marriage. Not only this, but he was also asking the victim to renounce Hinduism and adopt Islam so that he can marry her.
In the complaint, the victim has also accused Mahmood Khan of assaulting her along with his accomplices.
The girl also told the police that Mahmood forced her to eat meat. As per reports, the accused had imprisoned the victim and locked her in a room.
During this time, she was being constantly tortured. But on November 25, 2024, as soon as she got a chance, she escaped from the clutches of Mahmood Khan.
On the complaint of the victim, Sultanpur Kotwali police have arrested AAP leader Mahmood Khan. Subsequently, he was produced before the court from where he was sent to jail.
Inspector-in-charge of Kotwali police station Naradmuni Singh said that a case has been registered against the accused Mahmood Khan under the sections of rape, blackmailing, and conversion.
