In a thumping victory over Pakistan-sponsored Khalistani terrorism, the Uttar Pradesh and Punjab Police have carried out a joint operation to bust Khalistan Zindabad Force (KZF) terror module in Pilibhit district. With the encounter neutralizing three armed Khalistani extremists, the clear message given is that India will not tolerate any anti-national activities being promoted by foreign propaganda.

The Khalistani terrorists killed in the joint operation have been identified as Gurvinder Singh, Virender Singh alias Ravi, and Jaspreet Singh alias Pratap Singh. They were more than just criminals; they were pawns in a larger game of conspiracy to destabilize India. Based out of Gurdaspur, these radicals were directly responsible for launching grenades and bombs at a police station in Punjab’s Gurdaspur, to terrorise the public.
Khalistani activists opened fired at the law enforcement agencies, prompting a swift response from the Police teams. Two gallant constables, Sumit and Shahnawaz, suffered injuries in the ensuing act, and they are presently receiving treatments.
Pilibhit SP Avinash Pandey said, “The encounter took place in the jurisdiction of Puranpur police station. The joint operation was carried out by teams of Punjab Police and Uttar Pradesh Police.”
This statement is also a testament to the alertness and devotion of Indian law enforcement to crush terrorism, bit by bit with each successful operation.
The Khalistan Zindabad Force (KZF), a banned outfit under India’s Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967, wants India’s secession. Led by Ranjit Singh Neeta, a Jammu native who is now reportedly based in Pakistan, the KZF operates in Punjab, Jammu, Delhi, and abroad, including Britain, Germany, and Canada. Neeta, who is associated with several bombings and the 2001 murder of DSP Devinder Sharma, is said to be backed by Pakistan’s ISI.
The KZF has links with the Kashmiri terrorist organizations Hizb-ul-Mujahideen. As per reports, Its operatives have been using Nepal-based camps, with the support of the ISI, to smuggle explosives and plan attacks. Prominent leaders are Amritpal Singh Romi, who was killed in 2000, and Ravinder Kaur, arrested in 1998 for the bombings. The group continues to try to revive itself in Jammu, where many cadres have been granted bail. Indian security forces continue to be watchful of its revival.
The shootout, which killed three armed Khalistani terrorists, brought home the message: India will not tolerate activities against the country that foreign propaganda incites.
The joint operation, which was launched after credible intelligence, marked the commitment and coordination between Punjab and UP Police to root out terror elements. Armed with two AK-47 rifles, two Glock pistols, and ammunition, these terrorists were a huge threat. However, their ambitions were foiled in a gunfight that erupted early Monday in the Puranpur area.
