Amid the strained Indo-Canadian ties, shocking revelations have surfaced regarding the funding of Canada’s New Democratic Party (NDP) by Khalistani terrorists. The NDP is led by the notorious pro-Khalistan leader Jagmeet Singh. He was the former ally of the Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
Exclusive documents accessed by CNN-News18 show that slain Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar contributed substantial amounts to the NDP between 2014 and 2019. The first donation from Nijjar was recorded on June 26, 2014, for 250 Canadian dollars. Further donations followed, including three separate 375 Canadian dollar donations in November 2017.
Other Khalistani extremists, including Mo Dhaliwal and Tehal Singh, are also linked to donations made to Jagmeet Singh’s political party NDP campaign. Mo Dhaliwal, who donated in multiple instances between 2017 and 2021, contributed a total of 6,550 Canadian dollars. Tehal Singh donated 200 Canadian dollars to the NDP in 2017, while Bhagat Brar donated 400 Canadian dollars in the same year. The documents further reveal donations from Khalistanis Malkeet Singh and Dulai in 2015 and 2017.
Indian Ministry of External Affairs has repeatedly called out Justin Trudeau for deliberately hampering relations with India for his vested political interests and these revelations stamp India’s assertion against the Trudeau government. As Trudeau’s approval rating has plummeted prompting his own team members to point fingers against his leadership, his attempts to strain diplomatic relations with India were only to secure the votes of Khalistani elements.
But one of the two major political parties in Canada getting funds from Khalistani terrorists is concerning given the constant marginalization of Canadian Hindus. A few days back, the Khalistani miscreants and hoodlums intruded into the Hindu Sabha Temple in Brampton and attacked Hindus devotees present there not sparring even Hindu women. Vandalism of Hindu temples with Pro-Khalistani and Anti-India slogans have become normalized. Most recently, the Brampton Triveni Mandir had to cancel an event scheduled for November 17 due to threats from Khalistanis. A consular camp at the temple was planned where Indian-origin Hindus and Sikhs could renew essential life certificates. And the document exposing the nexus between two of the mainstream Canadian parties with Khalistani terrorists has strenghtened the assertion of a section that demanded the Indian government to declare Canada not just a save haven for Khalistanis but also name shame Trudeau led state as a ‘terrorist state’.
