The third season of the Jaipur Heritage Photo Exhibition – being organised from 16 to 23 November – is all set to showcase the city’s history of the past 100 years, wherein heritage monuments, wall city, Hindu temples, old streets and culture of the metropolis will be prominently displayed.
The old rare pictures of Hindu temples such as Tarkeshwar Mahadev Mandir and Moti Doongri temples could be seen in the photo exhibition.
Tarkeshwar Mahadev Mandir is dedicated to Lord Shiva and was built in 1758. Shivling of Tarkeshwar Mahadev is made of black stone. As the temple celebrates Maha Shivratri, Diwali, Annakuta and Nrisingh Leela, a large number of people from across the world visit it every year.
Moti Doongri, which means pearl hill, also attracts a number of visitors every year. They go there to pay homage to the famous Ganesh Temple. It’s considered the most auspicious and important religious temple in Jaipur.
The Ganesh temple was built by Seth Jai Ram Paliwal, in the early 18th century.
The Jaipur Heritage Photo Exhibition, which is being held at the ITC Hotel, would also showcase the vintage cameras.
Along with the pictures of Old Jaipur, New Jaipur, and Hindu temples, there would be vintage photographs of city streets and the old Chopal of the city.
Entry to the exhibition, wherein over 70 photographers are participating with their work, will be free, and 50 visitors will get gift coupons every day.
Jaipur was founded by the Rajput chief of the Kachhwaha clan Jai Singh II on 18 November 1727, who ruled the region from historic temples of 1699 to 1743.
Meanwhile, the 10th edition of the Indian Photo Festival 2024, the country’s longest-running international photo festival is also being organised from 21st November to 5th January with an incredible lineup of Artist Talks, Exhibitions, Workshops, Discussions, Book Launch, Film Screenings, and Portfolio Reviews.
Also, India Art Fair is the biggest fair of modern and contemporary Indian art in the world and its first three editions attracted over 146,000 visitors.
