Reacting sharply against attacks on two consular camps in Brampton and Surrey of Canada on November 2 and 3, India has cancelled some of the planned consular camps, citing lack of security arrangements.
“In view of the security agencies conveying their inability to provide minimum security protection to the community camp organizers, the consulate has decided to cancel some of the scheduled consular camps,” the Indian Consulate General in Toronto said in a post on X.
A Khalistani mob attacked Hindu Sabha temple in Brampton and misbehaved with the devotees there as the temple was organizing the consular camp and the local failed to protect and act against the attackers.

Sikhs for Justice, a banned pro-Khalistani group, said they protested the presence of Indian officials who were there to assist the administrative services.
The Indian High Commission was providing Canadian-Indians with essential services when the people gathered there were attacked by the anti-India forces.
The reports say such camps, among other things, help with providing life insurance certificates to Canadian-Indians.
In one such consular camp, which was held at Lakshmi Narayan Mandir in Surrey on November 3, as many as 750 life certificates were issued to members of the Indian diaspora and pensioners, they said.
The Canadian security agencies have denied “minimum security” at a time when Khalistani elements have become hyperactive.
They have been issuing threats to Indian-origin people and India-linked organizations.
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and his Liberal Party have been condemned for not doing enough to contain ‘Khalistanis’.
According to reports, there have been evidence of Khalistani elements having infiltrated Canadian police services.
Canada authorities were forced to suspend a police identified as Harineder Sohi after videos of him participating in a pro-Khalistan protest outside the temple in Brampton went viral.
Sohi was caught on camera holding a Khalistan flag, while others in the protest chanted anti-India slogans.
