Tesla CEO and the world’s richest man Elon Musk has come out to slam Justin Trudeau, pointing out that the Canadian Prime Minister will be gone by the upcoming election. The Canadian elections are less than a year away, with October of 2025 tentatively stated as the election dates.
The post on X came after Musk’s interaction with a Swedish journalist. Sharing an update on the German government the journalist had posted on X, “The German Socialist government has collapsed and there are now talks about a snap election.” Responding to the post in German, Musk went on to call the German Chancellor Olaf Scholz a ‘fool’.
A user replied to the post seeking aid from the billionaire for “getting rid” of Justin Trudeau. Musk responded by saying that the the Liberal Party leader will gone in the next election. Justin Trudeau is facing a massive anti incumbency with a cost of living crisis among other economic issues in Canada. The Khalistani issue is another that has drawn the ire of Canadian citizens.
He will be gone in the upcoming election

Trudeau has already lost the backing of former ally and NDP leader Jagmeet Singh. Trudeau has also been under fire by the Conservative party under Pierre Poilievre as well as the extreme right wing leader Maxime Bernier. Elon Musk on the other hand is riding a high of the decisive Donald Trump victory in the US Presidential elections. Musk had openly come out in support of the Republican nominee giving him his public backing. Post Trump’s return to the White House it is expected that the tech billionaire will be given a key position in the new look core cabinet team of the Republican leader.
This is not the first time the Tesla CEO has taken a potshot at Justin Trudeau. Earlier this year Musk took a dig at Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau by sharing photographs of Justin Trudeau in a variety of ethnic costumes and ‘brownface’, crediting the “unfair pics” to Google’s artificial intelligence tool Gemini.
Trudeau is trying to crush free speech in Canada. Shameful. https://t.co/oHFFvyBGxu

In 2022, Musk had tweeted a meme comparing Trudeau to Adolf Hitler in response to Canada’s Covid-19 vaccine mandates. He later deleted the tweet. Then, in October 2023, the Tesla CEO had accused Trudeau of attempting to suppress free speech through regulatory controls on online streaming services and content creators, labelling such actions as repressive.
Aside from his crashing ratings at home, Justin Trudeau has been on a collision course with India accusing the Indian government of being involved in the killing of Khalistani extremist Hardeep Singh Nijjar. Accusations that have been completely refuted by the Indian government. The Canadian PM also has a frosty relationship with Donald Trump and Elon Musk. With the Canadian elections approaching, Trudeau is sure to come under increased pressure to retain his position.
