In view of the upcoming Jharkhand assembly elections, political temperature in the state has really gone high, that in turn has led to a war of words among leaders of various political parties, preparing to contest the polls. In one such incident, Congress MLA and minister, Irfan Ansari, made a derogatory remark against BJP leader Sita Soren, calling her a ‘rejected maal’.
BJP has been on the offensive ever since the comment was made.
Soren also responded saying that Ansari made such a disgraceful remark knowing well that I’m a widow and there is no one to protect her.
Soren also shared a video of Ansari on X.
In the video, Ansari can be heard making the controversial comment.
Sharing the video, the BJP leader wrote, “Congress candidate Irfan Ansari will have to apologize for the indecent language he used against me in front of the media immediately after filing nomination papers for the polls.
Earlier also he made personal comments against me, but this time he has crossed all limits. Irfan ji, apologize, otherwise be ready for fierce protest.” Soren added.
“The indecent words you have used while being in such a respected position have frightened all women in the society. If you can use such words for me, then anything can happening to poor and helpless women? As long as such leaders are in power, women will remain insecure. Now, the time has come to oust them from power,” she demanded.
BJP’s Jharkhand unit has also shared a video, wherein Soren is seen crying.”Ever since BJP made me a candidate from Jamtara assembly, Ansari started making absurd comments about me.
He has crossed all limits. Ansari’s comments have exposed him. This has angered the women of our society. Therefore, we are not going to forgive him. Now the people of the society have decided that they will not be allowed to enter the villages of the tribes,” she could be heard saying.
Union Minister and BJP Jharkhand election in charge Shivraj Singh Chauhan while talking to the media said, “I am saying with great sorrow that Irfan Ansari, a minister of Hemant Soren, has used indecent words for Sita Soren. Is Irfan Ansari not ashamed? Sita Soren is the wife of late Durga Soren, daughter-in-law of Shibu Soren and sister-in-law of Hemant Soren. She is a respected leader. Using such words for her is not only an insult to her, it is an insult to the sisters and daughters of Jharkhand. It is an insult to the women power of India. If Hemant Soren has shame, then he should throw Irfan Ansari out of the cabinet.”
BJP has also filed a case against Congress candidate Ansari in Jamtara Town Police Station. Reacting to it, Ansari said BJP had distorted his statement.
