At the 54th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) held in Goa, Douglas took the opportunity to applaud Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s efforts in advancing film production and finance in India. This festival, one of Asia’s most significant film events, serves as a platform for cinema from around the world, promoting cultural exchange and understanding through the medium of film. Since its inception in 1952, IFFI has evolved into a globally recognized event, celebrating excellence in cinema and offering a unique blend of rich cultural diversity and cinematic brilliance.
Douglas’s presence at IFFI was not just as a participant but also as a recipient of the prestigious Satyajit Ray Lifetime Achievement Award. This award, named after the legendary Indian filmmaker Satyajit Ray, is bestowed upon individuals who have made substantial contributions to cinema.
