Founder Abhishek Biswas, the visionary behind Sattvik Certification, recently unveiled the groundbreaking ‘Buddhist Codex’ in Singapore, marking the firm’s inaugural international venture. But this is just the first course in a sumptuous feast of ethical dining initiatives that Sattvik Certification has in store.

In an exclusive conversation, Abhishek Biswas shared insights into the company’s mission and its plans to revolutionize the food industry. Next on the menu? Indonesia. With an unwavering resolve, Sattvik Certification is all set to introduce similar certification codes for vegetarian foods in Indonesia, catering to the burgeoning demand for plant-based options in the country. Biswas highlighted the incredible traction this movement has gained, with an estimated 1.9 billion individuals projected to be embracing plant-based diets by 2030.

“The demand for vegetarian and vegan food is huge across the world, and Sattvik Certification is among a few groups taking the initiative to certify food manufacturers and laboratories, ensuring that healthy meals take center stage,” Biswas emphasized during the launch of the Buddhist Codex by Sattvik Certifications Singapore Pte Ltd.

Biswas swiftly debunked the notion that plant-based foods are synonymous with high costs. Instead, he astutely pointed out that the real expense lies in the medical bills incurred due to health issues triggered by non-vegetarian diets. Drawing attention to startling statistics, he stated, “Due to its very high per-capita health care costs, the US could save USD 180 billion if the population ate according to recommended vegetarian-vegan guidelines.”

The visionary leader’s dedication to the cause is underscored by the successful model he has pioneered in India’s famed railway system. The Indian Railways, known for its vast network and extensive passenger service, has embraced Sattvik Certification. Every day, a staggering 8,000 to 10,000 Sattvik-certified meals are served on iconic trains like the Shatabdi, Rajdhani, and Vande Bharat, providing passengers with healthy, ethical, and delectable choices.

As Sattvik Certification continues its global journey, its impact resonates beyond borders. By setting new standards for food certification, the organization encourages both culinary creativity and mindful consumption. The ‘Buddhist Codex’ launch in Singapore is a testament to the fact that ethical eating is not confined by geographic boundaries, but is a universal language understood by food enthusiasts and conscious consumers everywhere.

Abhishek Biswas envisions a future where the phrase “eating responsibly” is not just a trend but a way of life. Sattvik Certification carves a path toward a world where every meal reflects our shared commitment to sustainability, well-being, and compassion. As more individuals, industries, and nations join this movement, we inch closer to a future where our forks become powerful tools for positive change.
