Udaipur Jagdish Temple – Guide
Jagdish Temple is a grand and majestic structure located in the City Palace complex of Udaipur dedicated to Lord Vishnu. This temple also known as Lord Lakshmi Narayan and is famous as the most important temple in the entire city of Udaipur. The entrance to this holy temple can be seen from the Bara Pol of the City Palace. Jagdish Temple is one of the places with its beautiful carvings, many attractive idols and peaceful atmosphere.
History of this Temple
The Udaipur Jagdish Temple was built by Maharaja Jagat Singh, the ruler of Udaipur. Who ruled the city of Udaipur from 1628 to 1653. This grand temple was built on a small terrace and its construction was over by the year 1651. This beautiful and attractive temple has been constructed by the Hindu architectural science of Vastu Shastra. You will be surprised to know that at that time about 1.5 million rupees were spent in the construction of this huge temple building. There is a four-armed idol of Lord Vishnu carved out of a single piece of black stone inside the main temple.

Udaipur Jagdish Temple opens from 4:00 AM to 1:00 PM in the morning and from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM in the evening. Morning aarti is performed at 4:00 AM in the morning and evening aarti is performed at 8:00 PM in the evening.
