The plot of ‘Tu Jhoothi Main Makkar’ revolves around Rohan Arora, aka Mickey (played by Ranbir Kapoor). Mickey, along with his best friend Dabas, manages his family’s business and has an uncanny side business. Notably, famous stand-up comedian Anubhav Singh Bassi plays Dabas, marking his Bollywood debut.
Both of them encounter Tinny (played by Shraddha Kapoor), a friend of Dabas’ fiancée. Tinny is a bubbly character who is notorious for her mischief and living life in her unique style. The plot picks up the pace: Mickey and Tinny fall in love. But for some strange reason, Tinny doesn’t want to marry Mickey.

Tu Jhoothi Main Makkar review starts with the plot then navigates to delve deep behind the reason for her indecisiveness. The romantic comedy flick beautifully pulls together the message it wanted to deliver to the audience in a neat piece of entertaining. To be honest, the film is far from perfect. But going by the sub-standard of the plethora of movies Bollywood has dumped over the years, this one is definitely among the best ones it has released in the recent past.
Initially, the film appears to give off the vibe of being Karan Johar’s awful movie. But as the film progresses, it has references from Bassi’s stand-up acts that will crack you up at regular intervals. On several occasions, the movie also depicts powerful emotional scenes. The movie has two surprising cameos that make the movie part of a larger Luv Ranjan universe. These cameos add to the entertainment quotient of the film, one that will definitely be talked about by audiences for a while.
However, the best aspect of this film is that it emphasizes the value of family. The film, without indulging in political correctness, showcases the insecurities of countless people who consider family as a hindrance to their modernity. They feel as if living in a family means being bound by various social shackles. Apparently, films like “Thappad” and “The Great Indian Kitchen” glorified this.

It’s a given fact that Luv Ranjan has always been vocal against extreme feminism in his movies, whether it was the Pyar ka Punchmana franchise or Sonu ki Tittu ki Sweety. But this time he went a step further and explained the importance of Indian families, a trait beautifully mastered by Sooraj Barjatya.
With this film, Shraddha Kapoor has made a grand comeback after three years. Her character has nicely portrayed the anxious and confused sides of today’s generation. Every actor impresses in this film, but two acting debutants will definitely impress the audiences: Anubhav Singh Bassi and Boney Kapoor. To be honest, seeing the past acting debacle, it would be advisable for arrogant Arjun Kapoor to learn the trait of acting from his father. So don’t be surprised if this Luv Ranjan film goes on to become the first clean success of this year.
