Shri Dattatreya Temple is located in North Goa. Sri Dattatreya Temple, also known as Sri Datta Temple, is located at Dattawadi, Sanquelim. Shri Datta Temple is one of those temples that remained untouched by the destruction of foreign rulers and is now one of the oldest temples in Goa. This is a very famous temple of Shri Dattatreya.
History and architecture of this Temple
The architecture of Shri Dattatreya Temple Goa is a combination of traditional local building and an austere architectural style. This unique combination has given the temple a special look. The interior of the temple is made of white marble. The temple has intricate carvings and extensive craft work. The temple was built as a shrine to keep the idol of Lord Dattatreya within a safe enclosure.
