Despite waiting patiently for years in hope that the government would provide road connectivity from the main highway to the interiors, the villagers from Lambloo, Himachal Pradesh, took matters into their own hands. Without cribbing, they decided to build the road with their own resources. In an inspiring turn of events, the local residents pooled resources to construct a portion of the road. Later, they also agreed to contribute more resources and money as the work progresses.
The efforts of the residents didn’t go unnoticed. Their initiative paved the way for better transport and development in the area. Sensing mass mobilization and community efforts, the governments woke up from their slumber. Later, the concerned authorities included the construction of the road in a central government scheme.
