‘Bholaa’ movie review: Bholaa may or may not be successful at the box office, but it has to be praised for one thing in particular, that it badly exposed the alleged critics’ circle. Those who loot stars on a film like Pathan, and do not even appreciate Gangs of Wasseypur, have been ripped to shreds.
What is Katha?
Let’s start ‘Bholaa’ movie review with the story, directed by Ajay Devgan, the film is an official remake of the Tamil film Kaithi. The film is set in Purvanchal, where SP Diana Joseph has recently unearthed a significant drug racket, and the “Seeka Gang” is out to avenge it at all costs.
Meanwhile, a prisoner named Bholaa is released from jail after 10 years, and he yearns to meet his daughter. But how does he get caught in this episode, and whether he is able to meet his daughter or not, that’s what “Bholaa” is about.
‘Bholaa’ movie review: 100% Guaranteed Entertainment
When Ajay Devgan said that this film would be different from “Kaithi”, many people ridiculed him for taking it lightly. But in “Bholaa” he proved two things clearly: One should not make the mistake of underestimating him, and secondly, he is proving himself to be a long race horse in the field of direction.
Three points are enough to tell how different this film is from Kaithi: the location of the film, Tabu’s character, and Abhishek Bachchan. The difference between “Kaithi” and “Bholaa” is as much as between Khichdi and Bisibele Bhaat. The basic ingredients of both are almost the same, except that one has more priority to tadka and spices, and the same fits with Bholaa
Apart from this, the way Tabu has played the original character of SP Diana Joseph, that too clearly makes this film different from “Kaithi”. Here human sensibilities and action have been given a lot of importance. And why not, How can you even hope to achieve success if the basics are not right?

Bholaa had claimed that it would be a pure action entertainer, and that’s exactly what happened. Ajay Devgan should be praised for this. Tabu and Vineet Kumar have also done full justice to their roles. But the ones who will surprise you the most are Deepak Dobriyal as Ashwatthama aka Ashu and Sanjay Mishra as Havaldar Angad Yadav.
Both have been well-known players of comedy, but both of them have left their mark by doing the exact opposite and the performance of Abhishek Bachchan, who leaves an indelible mark in just two scenes.
Stay away from fake reviews
We had already predicted that Bholaa would not get very positive reviews, and so it happened. But on the basis on which the criticism has been made, don’t know why Danny Gomes of “Chup” comes to mind.
If you have a problem with the setting of the film, the idea of the film, or if you have a problem with the fact that the screenplay was not good, that’s understandable.
But on the basis on which “Bholaa” has been criticized, most of the critics had laid flowers in the way for films like “Pathan” and “Brahmastra” for the same points.
Some even claimed that “Bholaa’s action was not great, and that it was not as strong as “Pathan”. It is totally depend on the audience and their favoritism towards the actor.
So is this film a masterpiece? No, there are some shortcomings in this film, which could not be hidden even after the tireless efforts of Ajay Devgan. For some time in the first half, the screenplay was wandering at some places. If the item song not been there, the script would have been tighter. Apart from this, there were some dialogues which got buried in the noise of BGM.
But if we define “Bholaa” in one word, then it is the film that will shake you up. Yes, according to “kaithi” lovers, it could have been a bit better, of which I am also one, but in terms of entertainment and emotions, the film did not disappoint at all. This is a pure masala film, which you can watch without any hesitation in the cinema hall.
