A point-by-point rebuttal on Renuka Chowdhury’s rants

PM Modi in particular has been at the receiving end of countless slurs.

Renuka Chowdhury will file a defamation case against PM Modi

Renuka Chowdhury defamation case: Rahul Gandhi’s recent conviction and disqualification from the Lok Sabha has sparked a fresh round of political accusations against the Modi government. The opposition’s main plan of action is to unite against PM Modi and work to “restore” democratic values, which they claim are under attack.

Parallelly, there is an effort to implicate PM Modi in an alleged defamation case “to be” filed by a fellow parliamentarian, Renuka Chowdhury. Although the veracity of her claim has not yet been established, it seems to be another half-baked attempt to change their political fortune. They are hoping against hope that their desperate, directionless, and even illogical acts will reap them benefit.

Basically, they badly want to overturn the result, as they have already conceded defeat, as evident from their rattled demeanour and slander campaigns.

Renuka Chowdhury will file a defamation case against PM Modi

Post Rahul Gandhi’s disqualification, Congress leader Renuka Chowdhury has been claiming that she will sue PM Narendra Modi. Repeating her claim on loop, Renuka Chowdhury has tweeted that she will file a defamation case against PM Modi for allegedly calling her “Surpanakha”. Well, this bankrupt claim not only reeks of revenge politics but is also flawed on many levels.

First: The act of revenge

First things first, the claim is purely driven by revenge politics, as it comes immediately after Rahul Gandhi’s conviction. Every Congress worker is doing their best to impress the Gandhi family. Some are offering to surrender mass resignations. As per ANI, one Congress MP said that all MPs of the party should tender a mass resignation. I leave it to you, the viewers, to decide the underlining reason for this suggestion.

Is it sycophancy or a way to show how crucial Rahul Ji is for the party and that he, along with his family, has done a great service for the party? You must hate Congress to think that it is sycophany, as neither Congress pampers sycophants nor do they receive promotion in the internal party structure.

On a similar line, Rajya Sabha MP Pramod Tiwary recently pleaded that courts should consider Rahul Gandhi’s family background while sentencing in a case. He has suggested that the Gandhi family should be treated differently by the law.

Again, viewers, you are wrong. It’s not sycophancy as India is Indira; no, no, India must be Rahul Ji now and vice versa. On that line, it seems that former Rajya Sabha member Renuka Chowdhury immediately recalled things that could be exploited to implicate PM Modi and get the much-awaited traction. Thus this revenge step.

Second: Love Shop in the Market of Hatred

Recently, Congress leader Priyanka Vadra stated BJP members have insulted her family a lot of times, but we kept quiet.

But the Congress leader couldn’t comprehend the fact that Rahul Gandhi was found guilty of defaming a community and not an individual or in particular PM Modi. Their ecosystem is deliberately overlooking one of the most important traits of politicians. Apparently, politicians are said to be thick-skinned, and there are gazillions of slurs exchanged by politicians to and fro, and it includes politicians on both sides of the spectrum.

PM Modi in particular has been at the receiving end of countless slurs, be it Maut ka Saudagar or low-class; ironically, Renuka ji herself does this in her tweet. While accusing PM Modi of defaming her by calling her Surpanakha, in the same breath, she refers to PM Modi as a “classless megalonaniac”. Mind you, this is not an indirect reference, as there is no ambiguity about to whom she is talking.

Additionally, in one public address, PM Modi highlighted the long list of abuses hurled at him. She called it “Congress’s Dictionary of Love (Prem Ki Dictionary)”.

‘Prem’ seems to have gotten a new definition for Congress leaders. Mr. Rahul Gandhi had once said that he was here to open a love shop in the market of hatred. But the vile attitude of Congress, like “Modi ki Kabra khudegi” hints that this dictionary may have been bought from a “China shop” and this is the MoU effect that Mr. Gandhi secretly signed with CCP.

Third: Parliamentary Privileges

Third, Members of Parliament have parliamentary privileges, and their parliamentary speeches are to be held accountable by Parliament, and the judiciary has limited scope on that. The Indian Constitution safeguards parliamentary privileges, and any infringement of these privileges can be punished by the Parliament itself.

The judiciary has the authority to review parliamentary proceedings and to intervene if it discovers any actions or decisions to be in violation of the Constitution. So, because parliamentary speeches are mostly considered privileged, the judiciary has limited scope to examine them in most circumstances.

Fourth: No reference to “Surpanakha”

Fourth, explicitly stating that PM Modi referred to her as “Surpanakha” can’t be far from the truth. In his parliamentary address, PM Modi requested the Chairman not to take any action against Renuka ji, as post-Ramayana, parliamentarians are blessed to have experienced such laughter again. So, where does that refer to the explicit disparaging comparison she draws? Claiming victimhood for the things that have not been said is a rare trait that only leftists, Congress, and their ecosystem enjoy. The shameful display of this trait was visible in the CAA protest when it was claimed that Muslims would lose citizenship with the combination of CAA and NRC when the draft of NRC was never prepared.

Fifth: Can Surpanakha alone laugh?

Fifth, was Surpanakha the only character who had uncanny laughter with whom that indirect remark or innuendo could be linked to? Or what is the logical deduction that led anyone to believe that this indirect reference or analogical reasoning only led to Surpanakha’s hysterical laughter?

Now, it has been more than 3 days since she made this announcement, but there has been only rhetoric and no action on this front. So, it will be seen whether she will walk the talk and face humiliation in the court of law for her unfound equivalence between the two cases or whether the legal team will explain the weak legal standing of her claims.
